  1. Dear Jen, Young Lady , you put in a wonderful Tipping Effort Today for your Team Kauri Kats. Well done Jennifer ! It was wonderful to get my Tipping Total of $1,139.00 for my Fellow Team Magpies Mates today. I have a (2)Two Angus Calves bet with Zac that The Unpredictable Magpie's will finish higher on The PWJ Tipping Table Competition End than The Ferdies. I better head off and start the BBQ for Zac to cook us all King Prawns Tonight . To PWJ , Hesi and Pete , thank you all for the fun you allow us to have each Saturday Afternoon during this Corona - 19 Virus. With my very Best Thanks and Wishes , God Bless.

  4. Welcome Karrots, we are trying to build up the harness side, so your addition is ideal. I recall you ran a few comps where you were, no wonder you felt out of place with all that initiative Rex(Sir Gallivant), is planning on running a harness team comp soon. Hard to get the word out to people who don't know about the site. As mentioned previously, it is just a hobby really for Pete and I, to provide a platform for those wishing to discuss mainly racing, but a bit of sport, politics and music in a reasonably civilised and respectful manner Thanks Alan

  5. Beaut fighting effort today Highlanders, the clans would be proud! ๐Ÿ™‚ Congrats ๐Ÿ™‚ After the last it was a pretty decent win and we're only too pleased to help another harness side along ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฅ‚๐Ÿ˜ Thanks as always Peter ๐Ÿ™‚ .. and on we roll Foxes.. might have a word with the guy driving the mobile though.. I did plan for us to get off to a more speedy start .. ๐Ÿ™ƒ

  6. Earlier this year I think it was. Didn't brag at the time(but will now ๐Ÿ˜)but 8 of those winners were"1st picks" too which made it pretty cool. I think I might be pushing for another record for the most consecutive losses at the start of a comp....7??, that one is not so clear in the memory banks๐Ÿ˜‚. PJs weekly ditties spurred me on in the end i.e. got my arse into gear eventually for several wins.

  7. Thank you, Craig ..... your Highlanders played very well and had the edge on us for most of the day. We Blues were very fortunate to get the bob in at the right time within the shadows of the post. Fortunately Montefilia didn't read the media blurbs that said it was vulnerable at 2400m. After starting the comp with a '0' in round 1, we Blues will happily take the win ! ๐Ÿ˜Š. Thanks again, Craig .....all the best to you me good mate, and to your Highlanders, for the remainder of the comp. Thanks PJ for another great day of comp entertainment.

  10. Thanks for the match today, Howie and the Blues, a great win for the lowly Magpies, we wheeled out one of our secret weapons today, in Blazes(Roger), but the whole team played pretty well, squawked above our weight you could say All you had to do Howie, was take a Piko special, In The Congo, and you would have beaten Wrinkly, and taken a 3-2 win. Great win today Magpies, with the top aggregate, might have to adjust the market prices. And thanks also to PJ, for yet another classic comp coming up Over and out

  11. My thoughts exactly. All these galloping people who actually know something about galloping are doing my head in ๐Ÿ˜‚ I need a harness competition and go up against Mick Guerin...my life would be so much easier.

  12. Get what you mean Addy, re on the odd occasion a trainer or perhaps connections may prefer getting 2nd, and avoiding getting a jump up in ratings/handicaps Racing is too hard, and also expensive, to be playing around with horses, in the hope of a bigger prize down the track. Just like in a life situation, you have got to take every opportunity that comes, as the one you miss out on now, will be one you will never get back. Racing has many variables, and sometimes when your horse is spot on, it can be impeded or just not be good enough. Just my thoughts after 48 years in the sport. Cheers. Robert.

  14. Max has something to say, though not many will listen: Having a vibrant active Harness thread on this site, ie people who know their stuff and like to laugh and try to pick a winner of three is AWESOME for Max, who is not competent with the wobblies but likes to learn and 'see what he can see' .. so well done to all involved on this thread. Feel free Karrots, one of the best sites you will ever be part of mainly because everyone is polite and respectful to those around them on this forum. And brilliant to have another harness fan amongst us. Regards Rees. (globederby 12)

  25. I think there is something inherently wrong with this programming. Newcomers to the track get a stake of 25 000 and a Group 3 FFA has a stake of 35 000. A 10 000 difference. That is pathetic. Sell....sell....sell.....sell.....sell.....

  26. Hi Happy, You understand how it works Happy. If you are paying anything from $50 to $100 a day to have your horse trained, in general, it is not realistic to think that horses are tinkered around to get a few thousand extra in a couple weeks time. As Karrots said, it can get sick or injured in the meantime. All horses can have targets, some are big, and some are small, based on abilities. Most trainers will give you an honest assessment of your horses ability, and will aim them to get the best possible result for you. Many times that will be nothing, through all sorts of variables that are associated with a horse, whether it be ability, attitude, constitution, or injury etc. This is not a sport for the impatient, and as long as you give the trainer the time to give a proper assessment, then a measured decision can be made. If you don't agree then most trainers would encourage you to try another trainer. Cheers. Robert.

  36. Finished this already so might as well drop it now. As mentioned last week will take a look at Miki. 1. G Rogerson points out a yearling called Luka Doncic is 1 to watch out for. Luka Doncic an Always B Miki has caught his eye & will be aimed at next years Jewels as a 2 y-o. (If Jewels is still on). Mikis NZ stats e.g. 5 winners from 11 starters, eldest racing age 2 y-o in NZ. And those winners like Sweet Lou, are clearing maiden quickly. Your So Fine has grabbed Group 2 glory, Your So Fine has been exported to Oz. Montana Glory filly placed 2nd in G1 Jewels has been exported to Aus but it yet to be sighted there. Leaving Franco Indie to bear the Miki flag in NZ to potentially grab the 1st G1 in NZ for the up & coming sire. In terms of breeding numbers Miki served his biggest book 2021 with 201. Compared with only 98 in 2018. Based on numbers when his class of 2021 hit the ground, might be a case of WATCH OUT. 2. All Stars hereโ€™s a link to their new look new domain website. http://www.allstarsracing.co.nz 3. A link to latest All mic-ed up episode 4. D Ferg & the horse they call Princess, Cambridge Horse of the Year - She Reigns. https://www.facebook.com/trackchatnz/videos/250038193724453/ 4. As per last weeks edition A Harrison made her training debut, but it was her driving that nite that stood out - taking out TAB drivers challenge. Re Jnrs - GIRLS have jumped ahead of Boys. Albeit this transit season doesnโ€™t count & Morrison is now an Open driver. BUT IF continuing the count on from last season including this transit season til 31 Dec. A Harrison has bypassed L Whittaker in Northern Jnr Ranks wins And S Oโ€™Reily too winning more than Morrison. Unfortunately for S Oโ€™Reily the Inter-island Australasian Champs have been cancelled. How adorable & bubbling smiley is Northern Jnr C Hackett & has started her career in fine form. 5. As per NZ standardbred website their yearling sales calendar is set to be released next month. Breckon Farms already released their draft heres link to it. https://www.breckonfarms.co.nz/yearling-draft-2022 6. Drivers it was noted that Dunn is driving well. Winning 4 at Addington Fri then driving more winners at Oamaru. 7. Overseas Winners Spellbound wins G3 & is off to chase elusive G1 glory. 8. Aussie Exports - Jewels winners A Bettor You & Bettor Twist both been exported to Oz. Look out for them up & coming Oz. Another with Oz bound plans is Stylish Memphis after being withdrawn from NZ Cup. 9. Withdrawals from Cup now include U May Cullect, who is retired. BUT the Road to Cup continues with this week the Holmes DG draws 9 noms including Copy That, Bad to B, Belle of M. While in South, The Flying Stakes at Ashburton Sun, includes a nom from KRUG, Pembroke Playboy, Taipo, Self Assured, SCA, Laver. 10. Mentioned from last week was Gavelhouse sale Lot 2 Major Majority ended up selling for $600 & dam Lot 9 Heart Stealer Passed in. Mentioned it as come from GREAT family in Twice As Good, but seemingly a branch that no-oneโ€™s interested. Of note another that comes from the great Twice as Good family tree too, but different branch is Allamericanlover who cleaned up her rivals at Addington. 11. Darling Me - Taking a look at her past 3 starts. Fresh Up had a sit & ran past Miracle Mile starter Stylish M to win. Next 2 starts mid race moved to parked & faded to 3rd or 4th. Know how Iโ€™d be driving her next IF I was driver. Sheโ€™s nom-ed for Ashburton. So lets see the tactics adopted. Her 1/2 sis by Captain T - Remember Me is nom-ed Thurs Addington be an interesting watch if she is as good as her siblings in Sweet on Me & Darling Me. 12. Poster Mikes generosity continues with BIG 2v2 coming up as part of $100 selections comp. Friendly sledging has started. Karmax Vs Mikble R. Stay tuned on Harness competitions thread to catch the action. (TFS Transport kindly sponsoring our 1st comp). What a flyer Richie has made. How good is TFS Transport teaming up with Cambridge to provide FREE return Transport for South horses to race at Cambridge! Great move Cambridge, bright young team they have there. 13. As mentioned last week Sweet Lou Smaltese set up a scorching Australasian 2y-o record mile of 1.50.4, only to be run down by My Ultimate Ronnie, who had came off his back to nab him. Both qualify for Breeders Final. See ya back Thurs for Round 2 of Comp ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

  39. Nice performance Pies, on top of defending the shield also. Could have gone either way with The Chosen One. Thanks for the match Maxis, well played Astounding score Wrinkly, well done, would have beaten quite a few teams on your own today. That's a record easily for this round, and possibly the best score in a long while. Thanks as always PJ for another great days enjoyment for so many people

  42. Yip, a WALL of horses 3-4 lol at start, it was like go-go. Wasn't expecting Copy That to land 1/1 got the trip. Knew the horse rank outsider would stop in lead, but wouldn't hand up. Stuffed Bad to Bones win chance. (didn't bet just saying). Quinella again Copy That - Bad to Bone x3 times now. Interested to see how Bad to Bone goes when he actually gets lead & doesn't have to sit parked. Belle of Montana a nice run fresh up too. Lots of nice racing tomorrow nite in Oz. Will be following Sugar Me, He's Charlies Angel Race 2 and 3, then Amazing Dream and The Dealer at Bendigo tomorrow. See Y'all tomorrow evening ๐Ÿ‘
