  1. I'm a starter again, PJ., thanks. Can you please put me down as a Captain .... there seem to be berths available in that role, and I've had plenty of experience. 'Too Fast' franchise is standing down after several campaigns ..... some profitable ...some not so much. πŸ˜ƒ So a new name is in the 'offing.' Just wanna acknowledge John's magnificent contribution to PJ Comps over many, many years. The 'go to' man when PJ has called for help, a top selector, and highly successful team captain. Hopefully the lure will prove too strong, and John will be back one day. I hope so.

Both Wrinkles and Dino have had their new House Foundation's laid and are in Happy Spirit's. The recent Fire hurt la lot of people and the Corona Virus - 19 has just made it most hard for most Humans in every day aspect's. 4. Hearty congratulations to the Kauri Kats on taking out the Title ...... never doubted you lot for a minute ! πŸ™‚ Sterling performances at the business end, the final 2 rounds, throughout the Kauri Kats team ..... a real strong team effort. Well done ! Well done also the Steelers .... targeted you lot from a fair ways out as our Joker play and I was just plain wr..wr...wro ....... come on, Geoff, help me spit the word out ......I'm having trouble ! 😁 Steelers strong right through this comp, and deserved bronze medallists. Formidable opponents, as a 0-5 drubbing surely confirms. Hard

  5. Thank you my friends for your kind words of congratulations. It's been a long time between drinks, but the racing gods were kind to me this time around. I'll be savouring the success for sure, because we all know well that one week you can be the rooster ....the next week you can end up a feather duster. After being consistently right amongst it for the first 7 rounds, today was a bit of a "damp squib" (both literally and figuratively) for me, but fortunately I'd done a bit of a 'Kotare Chief', and had built up a sufficient lead that it was going to be very, very difficult to be caught.

  13. Okay everyone. Many of us will be stuck at home over Christmas-New Year with precious little opportunity (or desire for that matter) to venture anywhere. Welcome to the Christmas New Year Comp (CNYC). It will run from Sat Dec 26 to Sun Jan 3. The Rules are essentially the usual Super Comp regulations with a couple of small twists. You may enter every day or just whenever you feel so inclined. THE RULES 1. Players. This is an individual comp. No teams. 2. Schedule: Day 1 - Dec 26 - Ellerslie, Wingatui, Eagle Farm Day 2 - Dec 27 - New Plymouth, Hobart Day 3 - Dec 28 -

  14. As we 'Too Fast' now bow out of this fine competition, all that remains is for us is to firstly congratulate the 5 very worthy team finalists on making the 'big round' and wishing each team all the very best in your endeavours to take out 1st place. I'm sure there will be some close and enthralling match-ups to come. And secondly and most importantly we Too Fast thank PJ for this wonderful entertainment that he puts on for us each and every week. A peerless performance scoring and commentating into the bargain. Many thanks, PJ. From a personal point-of-view I'd like to thank my accompli

  15. Congrats to the 'Showtime' team, Captain Maria, me good ole Blues mate Gordy, Gary, Heather, and Porky, getting in the decisive stride and taking out a well-merited victory over us previous Comp leaders, the team Barellan. Heather and Gary in particular playing 'blinders', and Gordy getting the crucial victory in the last over the Comp's top selector Tom, no mean feat. Not our best day "teamies' in Team Barellan ..... but we almost got away with it. If Rocha Clock has paid 10 cents less we'd be laughing. But it's the small margins that make these PJ Comps so entertaining. We've all got a

  16. Congratulations to the Kats who came up trumps for the last 2 weeks - well played! Also congrats to John and the Canes - we just gave away too big a start but it was a good match played in great spirit. And finally to Zig, Gazz, Ray and Steve - you are a real good bunch of buggers that I've had real fun with in this comp. Don't think it is justice that we finished last but that's how the cards fell in the end Sorry that Aquaoir couldn't get you that win today Gazz but she has more wins in her. As always a hearty cheer for PJ and his massive efforts to keep the ship running

  17. Well it's there for the Kats to throw it away. Ian has just 3 different selections - Entriviere, Needle and Thread and Montre Moi (BB) - to overhaul Graeme while Stevie and Jack have leads of over $500 to overcome. The Kats already have a point for a team profit which puts them beyond the reach of all but the Blues and Turbos. Still great racing to come tomorrow when the Draft Captains will be eyeing up the talent for next week's draft. Thanks everyone

  18. Many thanks, PJ, for another first-rate comp. Always a tremdous amount of fun. Top effort Roland ...... congrats ....... I guess the 'Mighty Blues' odds have shortened even more now ! πŸ™‚ Great stuff Gary & Virgil .....filling out the 'Top 3' today. Well done. Plenty of people putting up good scores. The Gold Coast Magic Millions two-day meet was an excellent venue for the comp - big, strong, even fields ...with attractive odds. See you next week, folks.

  19. Apologies to my team. Been a long few days since my boy graced us with his presence at around 10pm on Thursday night. So needless to say the last few days have been long and a bit of a blur.Still in hospital at the moment, with trying to get a couple of things sorted out.I'll try and post something for Tuesday but again will have to see how things go.But fair to say at the moment, fatherhood is going well.

  20. Hearty congrats to Mighty Blues' Pete and his table-topping Seagulls, taking out today's big match after working quickly to an early lead which was never surrendered. At one stage Geoff optimistically offered his thoughts that we could pull them back and race away to a 5-0 win ...... I had to do my Captain Mainwaring and offer back that Geoff was delving into the realms of fantasy now, and that just 3-2 to Barellan would be fine by me. Overall the best-balanced team in the comp, the Seagulls. We Barellan will now be looking to lower-ranked mobs in the comp to take down the Seagulls at the

I didn't see that sub replacement coming, I'd already just marked Heather down for a Quinella and the rest of us missed out.. that's racing folks πŸ™‚ Well done Showtime! you beauties πŸ₯‚ cheers! .. and I will just celebrate as Captain that did nothing due to a better performance by my opponent Howie πŸ™‚ .. but still managed to lead a team to a win πŸ™‚ As PJ said it's half way and things are still pretty close, everything to play for πŸ™‚ Bring on the softer going.. the leveller πŸ™‚ Thanks Howie and Barellan, great match, all day it was close and those matches are always fun.

Everyone contributed to our two points with team profit and higher aggregate and we had some near misses in the mix which tells me that it's all on πŸ₯‚ Gary whilst pondering on your Bonny Lass and celebrating and over indulging at a leaving party and sending off relatives at the airport you still managed to select one of the best Quinellas of the day.. excellent dude πŸ™‚ and as Captain I salute you on keeping the faith with two of your fave

  29. An apt time to point out, from Pete and my point of view, that while PJ's comps are a reasonable part of this site, and for which we thank him and all those that participate, there are many other aspects to the site. Aspects that others also contribute to and do so substantially, and for which we are also grateful The site cannot survive, just on the back of PJ's Comps People like Rex and Rees who have stepped up to the mark to help get Harness going Craig with his endless supply of music videos PJ, Maria, Pete and a few others who have also done the Infinite jukebox

  32. One week in and you're already having to pander to people. Which is more important? That a handful of people have ample time to view all the selections before start time or that all participants get a reasonable deadline to post their selections? The answer seems pretty straight forward to me. I don't get that people need more time to view selections. Our selections don't evaporate after the first race. This is a 7 week competition with a new concept in place. Why not let it run its course and then review it at the end rather than introducing new rules each week to keep one or two h

  45. Its icredibly simple Porky, unless you can be disciplined any adivce given will be wasted. What you say above is symptomatic of small bet punters who want to win big, get a few extra dollars in the pocket and you either increase bet size or bet volume to try and win even more. Discipline yourself to accept that a $10 bet will win you $12 rahter than $120 and you will be 90% there. Instantly I know you will be thinking, piss off Baz there is NO way I am betting just to win $12, but effectively right now Porky you are betting $10 and winning $0. Ponder that thought first be
