Thank you PJ for steering up through a difficult day with your customary expertise. Much appreciated, and thanks also to those who suppiied the NZ Tab dividends.

We Mighty Blues got home narrowly against a well-performed Crusaders outfit. Rex was a star for the 'saders and Rob does what Rob does best -landing a $53-1 bomb - well done sir. Tom almost did likewise with Eleven Eleven - and that would have really blown us out of the water. Thank you, Alligator Blood  👍

Thanks to my team-mates Gordy, Pete, Roland & Geoff for your good efforts today - a promising start to the comp and we'll advance rapidly from here. Please make sure you turn up next Saturday for our 'bye' game ... where we'll be taking on the Turbos and the wily Ferdies.

Lots of good participation, comments, banter already from lots of players - this comp is buzzing.

See you next Saturday, folks.

Well done Kats. It was neck and neck for most of the match but in the end victory was well deserved.

Bad luck Squirrel. Our MVP getting nabbed right on the line. Doesn't seem right that I should scratch out a win as our team's lowest scorer. Oh well, that run will do us the world of good. Til next weekend. 👍

cheers

Thanks Ray and your Turbo team-mates for an intriguing encounter today..neither side excelled and the 2pts coulda gone your way at the death with no brilliant performances from anyone. A countback 6th v 8th and a mere $900 aggregate tells the story.

The Foxy One led the way for us - good stuff, Graeme - but Sharne did what she (and/or Jen) often did in this Comp in 2018 -pulled the rabbit outta the hat in r10 to grab the win..

Special mention for new KAT Rocky Way -top performance mate with the Invincibella/Irithea BBQ that allowed him to break clear of Rees.

No complacency here in the Land of the Kauri Kats ...we'll need to do much better on the weeks ahead to stay in the running for a SF berth.

Thanks for your patience today PJ. well done.

true, but if that video conference had been more successful surely SNM wouldn't have lost his match.
Did someone pull the power cord out at a crucial moment in the Evening Session???

You should know the state of play by now Maxi, on any given day anyone can thrash anyone else.  Just preferably not bombed in the first race, which tends to take some of the excitement out of the day

BLUES (3rd) - Bye

The Squirrel takes on the maestro - you've already tweaked my furry tail once PJ in the Pre- Christmas comp so I will be preparing for a hard fought rematch!!

Bad luck today Turbo brothers - as the 72 year-old newly wed said on his honeymoon after slipping back a Viagra "The only way is up"!!!!

That Naki bird Peg's Pride did very well after that so-called 'long layoff' -reckon there was some sneaky training going on cos she sure went well fresh. Must check the draw and hope the KKs cop her 2nd-up

MM

My "training" started this morning MM. Luck in the running more like. Need some next Saturday that's for sure....!  Couldn't be more pleased with prep this week though..****

I suspect Heather, that next Sat, this comp will have to take a back seat.

By Zed out of a Kaapstad mare, weakish field, running on well enough in the Marton Cup, so should get 3200m........good luck on your huge day

Thanks Hesi. We bred her for this day and hopefully some to come. Wellington cup means a lot to Peter and me. Huge plaudits to Robbie Patterson who got her to the racetrack (after suffering numerous "throw this rider off too". A confident and better ride this week promised by Rosie will help immensely also.

And yes, I will scratch for next week's picks. Leaving too early on Saturday morning. Good luck team.
