It's just as well The Kats and Hurricanes don't meet until the final round.......or is it ?

...that Cruel and Spiteful barb from the Blowpipe of VvD stung like a bee and kicked like mule, SNM. (I daresay I deserved it, too, but don't tell him, he might repeat the dose.)

The Mustelid's personal performance was literally pointless, sad to say, but thanks for the compliment all the same. An interesting day's racing at Trentham. The Comp yesterday didn't quite have the usual air of drama and tension going into the last two races - prob because with three matches as good as over with only two very small fields at Flemington to come, it was pretty tough playing catch up, wasn't it. (Hesi might disagree, having found wuffie Causeway Girl!)

The Kauri Kats will take some consolation in seeing two other contenders squander their Joker and hope there are two more captains who will follow suit!

anyway, on behalf of the Kauri Kats, thanks and CONGRATULATIONS to the Chiefs on your deserved victory, special mention of Punter Pete (He No Opilio hurt us more than a Virgilian poison dart). And well done PJ - having all those Sydney selections on standby must've been a pain in the posterior. Onwards and upwards to next week, Karaka Squillion racing. No doubt another Te Akau Benefit (?)

There is one race they won't win

By the way, I didn't have Causeway Girl, but needed it to beat Bold Star, and the Canes had a 3-2 win, such is life

Hardly pointless MM if it comes down to aggregate you may well reflect on this fine tipping performance

As for the air of drama I agree that may well be put down to your opponents sub standard performance

Now can I please reserve a ring side seat for the Virgil Weasel match

What aggravated me was I couldn't find many ways for the Kats to get past you Chiefs with two races left- unusual in any round of a PJ Comp.

As for the ringside seat, rumour has it that VvD wants it to be held in Liverpool to extract home game advantage

I wouldn't expect Virgil to "slip" up....there's no Steve's in his team ! Mo problem there !

Is the Cake Tin the new Anfield ? Those Kats want to be careful they don't become Kitty Sala(h)d

Thanks John and Team Hurricanes for a very hard fought match that hung in the balance to the last race, squeaking in with Bold Star by the barest of margins.

Great effort Team Crusaders thats two fabulous teams we have been competitive with another 4 to go ..... interesting match ahead with team Turbo coming up next week who were be another formidable challenge.

Keep listening to that great music Craig it obviously helps u immensely when selecting your winners. Well done Tom fab selecting and Robert nicely snaffood Hesi in the last to give us that vital win. Unlucky Godzstar with Porky making an early big divvie was always gonna be tough peg back.

Thanks PJ For your great work as usual ,,,,,, onwards and upwards

Round 3 - Saturday Jan 25

1 TURBOS (1st) 102.00

HURRICANES (2nd) 213.00

The Turbos all blow a gasket as the 3 "Rs" - Robert (with the quinella), Rob and Rex score for the 'Saders who grab a handy lead with Rex moving ahead of Blind Squirrel and Robert passing Steve P. John, Virgil & TC get the Hurricanes underway and ahead of the Turbos' aggregate.

In the next:

The Kauri Kats go three up with A Beautiful Night, four up with Bombay Rocket and lead 5-zip with Unstoppable (let's hope it is!). Miss Venezuela, Sweet As Scandi help their cause.

The Ferdies pull one back with Fresh; take a 4-1 lead with Award Winner; take a 4-zip lead with Supreme Idea (go Team Freedman).
