NZ in a bad recession, how will it effect Harness

Has anyone else noticed just how bad this recession is? With many saying it will get worse.

I know so many people that have lost their jobs & more set to be made redundant. So many small business struggling. I havent seen anything like this.

What I have noticed is the recession is effecting low to now also middle class. Not upper class. Racing owners would have to be consider more upper class. The big owners, not the smaller ones in syndicates.

On another note the Cambridge Tuesdays Im surprised not more are backing up. I wonder why? Considering a 2 day meeting horses back up. I guess at least those owners who are paying the bills for those racing Tues will get more chance to get some money. So is a big plus for those paying the bills.

Still hearing doom & gloom in Auckland & Wellington of more pple losing jobs etc. Recruitment agencies say they havent seen it like this in 20 years. However good news another recruitment agent I know said that construction has started to pick up due to reserve bank & when construction picks up the other industries slowly follow (pickup) so thats a positive sign.

Not sure how on course participation has been going, but wouldnt be surprised if pple have been tighening up & not going out so much including to races. Also winter has just been. Now spring & a word of positivity so hopefully things all round start to improve.

Oh dear more job losses. Unfortunetly for every positive story 1 hears there are 10 bad. Still remaining positive. This must be the Covid hangover.
