aha .... the Best Bet races comin' up.

now things get interesting.

can 'The James Gang' hold on ? did they make their run too soon ? have they mis-timed ? 

we 'MTF' have been in worse positions than this . Just a week ago, in fact.
maybe we can go to the well one more time.

They're right there in the final.  I like the Theodore Roosevelt quote:

The winning Kiwi-bred tipped by all but Ashoka and James Gang pair Jack and Steve but it's Howie's BB that takes him past Jack and cut's Much Too Fast's deficit to the minimum.

In the penultimate race of the Grand Final:

The James Gang can go further ahead with Strome (Jack) or Tricky Gal (must pay $9.10+ or Krone complete the Q - for Blind Squirrel) while Shuhood, Paint The Town Two, Baccarat Baby and especially Krone help

Much Too Fast can seize the lead with Sure Knee (Rex), Delectation Girl or Red Stina (both Craig)

Krone looks the best bet of the day at Doomben but I would have some hope for the Ingham horse Sure Knee who ran 2nd to Fidelia once and won in a tough fight at Caulfield a few starts back
