ngakonui grass
With the field that this race has attracted it would appear to me to not to be positioned correctly over the carnival. Maybe a rethink. Perhaps with Sydney trying to compete this race has lost its significance. ngakonui grass
Makes me wonder. Melody Belle dominates our Group 1 races, heads to Aus and gets beaten(ran well) in a pretty ordinary field imo. Sir Charles Roads was dismal in Aus,retuns to NZ and places in a Group race first up. Hesi
Aus is a hard road, many have ventured and failed. We get a good horse in NZ, and we think it is a world beater, but Aus is full of horses as good. Look at Harlech, looked a top horse in the 2000 Guineas, runs last in G1's in Aus, wins a country cup, then runs last in a G3 yesterday They would have been better off keeping the horse in NZ
