The Hobart Racecourse

Also known as Elwick Racecourse is found 10kms from the Hobart CBD in Glenorchy overlooking the dazzling Elwick Bay. The course is set apart from most with its 360 degree views of local landmarks including Mt. Wellington and the Derwent River.

The course boasts a large 1990m maximum distance and it's the back straight of the course that demands the most respect as it takes competitors on a slight uphill run before they engage the final bend and make their way down the 350m home straight past the classic member's pavilion.

The Derwent River run's beside The Elwick Racecourse. It is a nice view when you travel up the Derwent by boat from Hobart to visit The Cadbury Chocolate Factory for a Tour of same. Recommend it to you all. Salamanca Place is a nice Tourist visit on any Saturday morning.
