Happy 77th Birthday (18 May) to Albert Hammond ...writer or co-writer of multiple hit songs in every decade since the 1960s ..still out there doin' it, current tour of Germany, Poland and Slovakia postponed til September on account of Covid. Hammond songs have sold over 360 million records. From Leapy Lee 'Little Arrows' and Gimme Dat Ding (The Pipkins) in the late 1960s to 'One Moment In Time' by Whitney Houston... he sent one particular song to Phil Everly, who recorded it on his first solo album in 1973.Phil sent his new album of 10 songs to the Hollies who he knew were Everly fans, with an invitation to cover any of the 10 numbers- they chose the only song Phil hadn't written himself ...'The Air That I Breathe' written by Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood.
