Maximus
Mustelid Maximus is scratching his furry features to the max (excl groin area) and asking...why? A $35k 1200m Open Hcp that she should win in a hand canter. Was nommed for the Tarzino Grp 1 $200k same day but didn't accept ...why? 1200m better than 1400 to resume, perhaps ...wanting an 'easy kill' for confidence prior to going to Oz? Perhaps. This is a Grp1 horse with earnings of nigh on a million dollars being trucked up north for a $21k payday, all going well ....why not just resume over 1200m in a suitable race at Randwick or Caulfield? There's one this Sat at Caulfield for over $100k...is there trouble with her prep????? Edited August 28, 2019 by Maximus
mardigras
Will she even win? I'd prefer to be on Watch This Space. I think Magnum might win it but a little short for me.

I have Memories Only at 13s - so is right in there.
Maximus
with the defection of Rikki Tikki Tavi, the two most likely to beat Avantage are Hello It's Me (fresh, classy home track, has won 1200m here) and Magnum (last year's winner). If Avantage is anywhere near right, she'll win well. But I fear she is behind in her prep; otherwise why go north?

Having been beaten at her last start they may want her to get that winning feeling back before a new serious campaign. But I'm only guessing. She doesn't know how to give in and was checked early in her last race in Aus. Looking for more ground now, 1400m should suit her next start.
