To win:

Crazy Horse need-

Gem of Scotland to win for Rees

OR

Boomtown Lass to win for Rees (must pay $4.90+ or Gem of Scotland complete the Q)

Hot Toddys need-

Pennino or Fleet Dove to win for Pam

Lowdown need-

Boomtown Lass to win for Sharne & Robert (must pay $5.40 or Lillemor complete the Q)

OR

Lillemor to win for Sharne & Robert (must pay $5.40+ or Boomtown Lass complete the Q). Alternatively a Lillemor - Niedorp quinella in that order would get Maurice up to possibly beat Ian with Robert also getting home against Stevie (must pay $4.90+)

Gem of Scotland never yelped for Crazy Horse and Boomtown Lass died on her run so MX5 held on to win with Rex finding the final winner to take his team past the team profit mark for a bonus point. Blind Squirrel bagged a BB in the last for Crazy Horse for whom debutant Plovdiv was MVP while Rob put up a massive score for Man of the Match honours. Too good for me today Rex !

Lowdown had a few ways to turn the match around in the last but the plunge on Lillemor put paid to most with Boomtown Lass fading as well. Nevertheless Robert bagged a BB (as did Sharne) to get up and collar Stevie, reducing Usain Colt's winning margin to the minimum with MVP Maurice also finding the final winner. Gary made the final collect for Usain Colt (managing to hold off Sharne) for whom Captain Ian was Man of the Match. Close contest !

Fleet Dove flew home late to get The Hot Toddy's hearts racing but it wasn't to be so The Roughnecks - who all missed in the last - held on, with Heather making the final collect for her side. Hesi (with a nice BB quinella) and Howie scored in the last for Piko who finished 2nd on aggregate for a point. Dino, with 4 winners on a tough day, was Man of the Match narrowly beating the score of Hot Toddy's MVP Captain Maria.

A tough day for all teams today, with only the MX5 getting a Team Profit (just) and no other team really close.
Dino was a standout for the Roughnecks, getting them front of us Team 'Piko' (playing our 'Bye' game) down the Aussie leg  and keeping them there. Well done, Dino. 🙂
For us Team 'Piko' a particularly good contribution from Hesi, a valuable acquisition for the team.
Pleased to get 1 point from our 'Bye' game, to get us on the scoreboard.
Thanks very much for this midwinter comp, PJ.
This will be a great interest, on cold, wet Saturday winter afternoons.
Now it's off to watch the Mighty Blues rugby team overwhelm a plucky Highlanders at 'The Fortress' - Eden Park.
Too much power in the forwards.
Another trophy into the Blues cabinet. 😀.
