Was that the century previous to the last one? 😂

You couldn't say a phrase like that today unless it was in a Netflix show or on the Stuff website.

Yes Happy, it was in the day of Ben Hur, chariot racing.

I guess, the death seat is not appropriate in this day and age as well.

Commentators just need to call the race using simple harness terminology, not over the top jargon which confuses people and has little or no meaning half the time.,

Just watched the Addington trots, Friday 10 September.

Bugger me.

I'm pretty sure I only heard one "chair" mentioned, for the whole meeting.

Only two things could have caused this.

1. Happy's comments. Or,

2. Most of the chairs had to be left in the storage shed, due to the track not being open to the public.

Anyway, whatever the reason, I think the race calls tonight were very good. Well done Mr Cross.

Here is a new one. Not before time in my book.

JIMMY CARTER - driver B Williamson admitted a charge under Rule 857(7)(a) when he allowed his gelding to approach the barrier quicker than the other runners which caused a delay to the start. After viewing the films and hearing evidence the Adjudicative Committee imposed a fine of $200. Broke at the start losing all chance. A final warning was placed on the gelding's barrier record.
