At the other end of the scale…. I think I managed the last 3 to crawl across the line.
The track seems to have had the blow dryers on all day, ever since our TAB said it was “Heavy” mid-morning.

Geoff yesterday when I got the trifecta in the Timaru Cup, I took all 3 horses that the comments man said wouldn't handle the heavy track 😆

At least we now know the best drying track in the world. From Heavy to “bloody beautiful” in 5 hours.
For all you Aussies out there, Taupo is a bottomless muddy H11 and has been pelting down for the last month.

Yeah right....as they say.....

On an extremely competitive day where the top 10 all made a profit it was Rees who came out on top with a quinella in the last taking him past Gee and Rex (who each only had the 2nd placegetter) to win the day. Gotta talk to whoever does these draws ! 26 found the juicily priced Kiwi-bred winner with trifectas added by Gary (lobbed into 6th) and Richie (made up plenty of ground late) while the even more lucrative BB quinella was snagged by Ray, Pete, Hesi, Robert, Roland & Jen. Hesi's got him past Punter Pete in the last while Howie mugged Graeme at the death with a quinella. Jamison hung on to win by a mere $1.70 over Gary flashing home late. If you think I have made an error with your score let me know as today was fairly hectic.

Points after Round 4:

A win for Rees today lifted him 6 places up above the tailenders but it was another consistent performance from the myopic Squirrel that takes him into an impressive 17 point lead after 4 rounds with Jamison clawing his way up to 2nd. A quiet day for Ray saw him slip to 3rd while Robert also lost a little ground and is being tracked closely by Gordy who made up 3 places today. Craig, Geoff, Richie, PJ and Rex round out the top 10 but still a long way to go. See you all at sunny Taupo tomorrow.

Well Howie about that. That's about the 3rd time this week I've looked O.K. after a few races then run down and mugged.😏Well done Howie

wow ...that was a bit of a surprise, Graeme, I've only just tuned in to the final race result.
I thought you were off-and-gone early with me having so many unreplaced scratchings through the day.
Tough luck Graeme .... could all change for you today. I hope so. Best of luck for the rest of the comp.
