Hi everyone. As a prelude to the Summer Draft Comp starting NEXT week I have decided to give us a run-out on Saturday at the entertaining Kumara meeting. This will give newbies or returning players a chance to get used to the format which we will use for the Super Comp. Post your selections on this thread. It is an individual comp for the day as a one-off.

Comp closes at 11.50am

Just post two selections per race and annotate two races as your best bet events.

Races are:

1. Kumara R1 - 12.00pm - NZB Insurance Pearl Series Race - $12k, 1150m, maiden fillies/mares 2yo+

2. Kumara R2 - 12.32pm - Terry James Memorial - $12k, 1150m, maiden

3. Kumara R3 - 1.07pm - Greymouth Star/Hynds Pipes Systems - $15k, 1150m, R80 BM

4. Kumara R4 - 1.42pm - Go Racing Buying @ Magic Millions This Month - $12k, 1150m, R65 BM

5. Kumara R5 - 2.15pm -Alex Haywood/Noel Wafer POW Memorial - $12k, 1810m, maiden

6. Kumara R6 - 2.53pm - Speights/Super Liquor Greymouth - $12k, 1810m, maiden

7. Kumara R7 - 3.28pm - Samurai Stks - $12k, 1810m, R74 BM

8. Kumara R8 - 4.03pm - Vernon & Vazey Truck Parts Kumara Gold Nuggets - $30k, 1810m, open hdcp

9. Kumara R9 - 4.38pm - Recreation Hotel - $12k, 1810m, R65 BM

10. Kumara R10 - 5.13pm - Birchfield Coal Mines - $12k, 1810m, R65 BM

 

THE RULES

1. Players. Individual Comp for this week only.

2. Selections. Competitors are required to select two runners per race. No subs are to be posted. All selections should be posted at the same time although I may make allowances if this is not possible due to late arrival for posting. Posting the same numbers for each race is not permitted.

3. Scratching Rule. You may post replacements for any scratching by making a new post (on your own selection thread) clearly indicating your replacement selection(s). This may now be done any time up until 10 minutes before the first race which I will refer to as CLOSING TIME.  After this point ALL selections are LOCKED IN. Late scratchings will go to the TAB sub followed by the 2nd favourite by TAB win odds in that order. If more than one horse meets the latter criteria then the replacement will be the horse with the lower number. 

4. Investments. Each selection will be regarded as an imaginary $10 win bet while if both selections start, a $2 quinella combining the two selections will also be credited to the competitor. So that's a $22 investment per race per competitor if two tips are submitted.

5. Best Bet. Each selector may choose any two races as a "best bet" selection. All $$$ earned from these races will be doubled. In the event of scratchings the same best bet (BB) will apply. There will be no transference to a subsequent race. If your best bet race is abandoned - bad luck !@

6. Posting. Please post your selections by number (names are optional and unnecessary). If you post replacements for scratched horses then do so in a new post rather than edit your original. DO NOT POST SUBS IN BRACKETS WITH YOUR SELECTIONS.

Just a quiet gallop for me today .... to top my preparation off nicely in readiness for being all guns-a-blazin' for Team Yahabeebe 's debut outing next Saturday in the big Summer Draft Comp. 
Today I'll be content to bury myself 5-deep along the rails and never look a chance at any stage. I'll beat a few home though ....racing royalty is looking a target well within my reach. 😉 
Will be pencilling in names of possibilities for Team Yahabeebe depending on how people go today ...... I've currently got Geoff in my Top-20 possibilities and depending on how the chips fall in the draw next week Geoff could well get a run for the winning team. No promises. 🙂.
