Well what a great result for NZ day !!! the great results for Nathan Purdon at Melton last night .

and now Zoi Sadowski-Synnot has just won Gold Medal at the Olympics in the women's Slope Style Snowboard !!  What a great result on the Special Day.

and the Aussie girl Tess got third and a Bronze medal too (after blowing a knee just before the last Olympics) .

How cool !!  well it is pretty cool there on those mountains anyway .

Congratulations to ZOI for NZ !!  and hope everyone is having a great Waitangi Day !!!!!!

Yip saw it too. Nerve raking watching the final 3rd runs. Then awaiting the score. BUT yes she did it.

1st GOLD for NZ someone was saying at Winter Olympics??

It is Karrots !! the First ever Gold for New Zealand at the Winter Olympics . Australia only has 5 in history at Winter Olympics as well.  It's a tough gig ????

Think much easier sitting in sulky than flying through the air for 50m + at 100+ kph ...... those girls are/were so brave today flying off that mountain.

Nico Porteous(21) is tipped to take gold and Alice Robinson(20) a medal chance.  What's going on in NZ sport, all of a sudden we are producing young champions with ice water in their veins, in a sport we typically have not had great success in, Annelise Coberger being the only other to medal

Interesting that when a sport is doing well at the elite level, you can almost always trace it back to the coaching and administration in place.  Great examples in NZ sport were Arthur Lydiard back in the 60's, also rowing, cycling and kayaking.

A good parallel then for racing in NZ.
