To win:

The Blues need-

In The Congo to win for Geoff and Gordy (4-1 win)

OR

Away Game to win for Geoff (4-1 win if it pays $5.80+ and Gordy then gets up)

The Swamp Foxes need-

Ballistic Lover to win for Punter Pete, Rees, Harewood and Maria (5-zip win)

The Kauri Kats need-

Away Game or Overpass to win for Graeme

OR

Ballistic Lover to win for Jen

The Turbos need -

In The Congo to win for Zig and The Squirrel (must pay $11.80 exactly or Gee will beat Ray)

Valiant effort from In The Congo and had the Squirrel chanting at the 150m

Well played Chiefs - just too good today! My erstwhile opponent kept getting the quinella every time I bagged a winner (which wasn't that often).

Good stuff Ray - kept us from the down trou and a complete whipping.

Onwards and upwards for the mighty Turbo's - we have plenty more to give.

Round 1 - Saturday Mar 19

Race 10 - Rosehill R9

1st - 15 Shelby Sixtysix W-$6.20

2nd - 2 Big Parade Q-$56.10

Scr: 1,10,17

1 SWAMP FOXES

$1478.60

1 point

4 MAGPIES***

$2277.00

4 (x 3 Joker play) = 12 points

Ballistic Lover compounded in the straight so The Swamp Foxes couldn't pull off a huge reversal but a BB from Punter Pete and a collect from Harewood took them past the team profit mark for a bonus point. An audacious triple Joker play by the Magpies came off spectacularly with two bonus points tripled to give them a big early lead in the comp. The rounded off the day in style with Secret Squirrel bagging his 3rd quinella to take 'Pies MVP honours - with Jamison also going well fresh-up - while Ian and Richie each capped a solid day with collects. Robert was a massive Man of the Match with 7 winners including an amazing 5 quinellas !

829.40 Robert

503.80 Jamison

222.20 Punter Pete

244 Stevie N

2 BLUES

$1526.60

In The Congo nearly had the Ferdies up the creek in the last with a brave run but couldn't quite pull it off for the Blues so the Ferdies whose final collects came from a BB from MVP Tom and Heather, held on. The Blues, for whom Pete bagged a BB in the last, console themselves with bonus points for a team profit and higher aggregate. Roland, with 4 straight Trentham winners, was Man of the Match with a big tally.

311.20 Heather

166.20 Pete

122.20 Zac

65.20 Gordy

78.40 PJ

4 CHIEFS

$945.60

In The Congo gave the Chiefs a big fright in the last but just couldn't sustain his brave run so The Chiefs - for whom Trotslover & Jack bagged BBs in the last held on to win with a bonus point for the 4-1 margin. Blind Squirrel bagged a BB in the last but couldn't quite snatch MVP honours from Captain Ray while Captain Jack was Man of the Match for the victors with 7 winners including 3 quinellas.

221 Ray

102 Gee

42 Gary

144.20 Our Maizcay

65.20 Steve P

334.40 Jack

2 KAURI KATS

$1200.80

1 point

3 HIGHLANDERS

$646.60

2 points

The Kauri Kats might have reversed the result if Overpass had not run into a brick wall so the Highlanders held on although they all missed in the last where only Jen found the emergency winner with a BB. With almost double the Otago aggregate The Kats took a bonus point for their trouble with Pam a mercurial Match Star earning nearly $700. Rob with 6 winners was the Highlanders' MVP.

694.80 Pam

20.20 Midnight Caller

140 Jen

322.60 Rob

68 Max

75.20 Hesi

*** Triple Joker

The cunning Triple Joker victory for the Magpies today has bolted them on a 9 point lead which will be a serious target for the rest of us to make up over the next 6 weeks. The Chiefs bonus point puts them in the trail in 2nd followed by the Blues and Ferdies who shared 4 points in their match-up.  The Highlanders won with a low total and find themselves in the bottom half of the table while the Swamp Foxes and Turbos will look to improve next week.

1st 12 Magpies (J3) $2277.00

2nd 3 Chiefs $945.60

3rd 2 Blues $1526.60

4th 2 Ferdies $1236.20

5th 2 Highlanders $646.60

6th 1 Swamp Foxes $1478.60

7th 1 Kauri Kats $1200.80

8th 0 Turbos $632.00
