Te Rapa Race 8 (FINAL)

1st - 7 Pimms 'N' Pearls W-$5.30

2nd - 2 New York Jazz Q-$26.00
Scr: 5,8,10,12-14,16,18-20

Subs: #17 or #15

17 on the Innes winner in the last with BBs for Howie, Hesi, Punter Pete, Rosina, Wandering, PJ and most important of all - John, who got his nose ahead on the line as a result crowning a perfect Joker play and walking off with 50 points - well done that man ! Lisa held 2nd and Midnight C did likewise in 3rd with TC gaining a place and 2 more points by lobbing into 4th. Missing the final winner proved costly for Jack - who led into the last but only came away with 8 points - and Blind Squirrel who saw his potential points tally halved. 6 made a profit but couldn't break into the top 10. John's big haul takes him to the top of the points tally overall with Midnight Caller moving up to 2nd with Rocky, Max and Moose right on his tail. Long way to go...

No worries Howie. I am warming to this boom or bust method of the Imperial Air force. Pinned on the wings after a rocky start.
Favs were the order of the day yesterday but unless you were on most of them then probably not enough $$ to score points.
I got $0 and scored 0 points. Paddy got $210 and scored.... 0 points.
Like the rest of the squadron, there will be many more zeroes in pursuit of that elusive $25 winner. But unlike the normal PJ comps, that only hurts my team of .... me!

These are particularly astute observations coming from a self-confessed Plodder. Very comforting indeed.

I change my Forum name from time to time, before PJ Drafts comps, in the hope that Howie will not know who I am and think.. "LastOf40 doesn't sound great... JustPlodded doesn't sound too good either.. I better give him a miss". It hasn't worked yet but I live in hope 😉

What have I started, blame Gee for it :classic_biggrin:, it was all his fault .50 odd runners so far and not one roughy.

As Rachelle said once " it wont happen over night, but it will happen".

Who is Rachelle, Rees

Old girlfriend?

Unrequited love?

Passing acquaintance

Something you don't want to share

Here's one for you

We used to make Loxene hair shampoo, what were they famous for.

Other products we used to make that a few will remember,

Meadowsong perfume.... what the world used to smell like before we all went mad

Aeroblast fly spray....kills them on the wing

Cossack roll on....  Joel Garner, no sweat man

I have that very record ! Must have sold thousands back in the day. Bunny Walters, Chapta, Suzanne, The Rumour. When I was GM at Stoney Bridge I ended up making videos and TV commercials with Jacques Koolen from The Rumour, very talented guy !

The Rumour. That takes me back. Gerard and Shade Smith. They had a big hit with L'Amour Est L'Enfant De La Liberte.

My third form French teacher hated it because he reckoned they pronounced it La Morte which made it a feminine version of 'Death is The Child of Freedom'

Happy days!

Here's  a story for you

When I was  at Reckitt  and Colman, we used to have a piss poor Xmas break up, a couple of beers and a sandwich  and everyone  was gone

So the Sales Director and I approached  the big chief and he gave us a 10k budget each year as long as we ran it

The last year Reckitts was in NZ we got Satellite Spies(Destiny in Motion)in to play in the cafetaria where we had the do

Firstly when they turned up, 2 grand cash in advance or no play.  Try getting that past the company finance director

They started setting up, literally  a wall of speakers and amps

Grave concerns that the cafe would be blown to bits

No worries, what a pure but loud sound and a great time was had by all
