I had hope when Strange Charm led heading for home, but not to be.

Congratulations Our Maizcay and  Schitt creek, thanks for a close contest right up to the last race.

The Wolf pack will be back on the hunt next week.

thanks Gordy, it was a very close match.  a few nervous moments for us with Centrefire, Easifar and Strange Charm in those last three races, but we were lucky enough to hang on

Round 2 - Saturday Jul 9

Race 10 - Doomben R10

1st - 2 Wham W-$27.40

2nd - 12 Ocean Treaty Q-$299.30

Scr: 5,10,14,16

2 Puppet Masters (3rd)

$894.00

1 point

3 Reapers (2nd)

$712.80

2 points

Who could believe it ! The Puppet Masters had 3 chances in the last and they ran 2nd, 3rd & 4th beaten by the barest of margins with the runner-up denying them a 4-1 win by a lip so a relived Reapers crew held on for the points although the Masters took a point for a superior aggregate. Tonka was Man of the Match while opponent Ziggy was Masters MVP. No one tipped the final winner.

218 Ian

79 Smiler

236.60 Roland

16 Hesi

16 Midnight Caller

67.20 Heather

4 Schitt's Creek (1st)

$757.20

3 points

1 Wolf Pack (7th)

$614.00

0 points

Wolf Pack's main hope loomed and faded in the last and the needed quinella never looked a hope so Schitt's Creek not only won but took a bonus point for the 4-1 margin carried over from race 9. No one got the final winner with Our Maizcay Man of the Match for the winners while opponent Gordy was Wolf Pack MVP on a tough day.

212 Steve P

141.60 Jack

173.60 Howie

3 Wily Wombats (5th)

$826.60

2 Drink! (4th)

$585.80

Drink! had two chances to reverse the match in the last and Joviality - which would have given them a 4-1 win - came within a couple of lips of pulling it off ! The Wombats held on for their first win, no one got the last winner and no bonus points were earned. Tassie Tiger was Wombat MVP while opponent Pete was Man of the Match thanks to his clever stable quinella in the last at Te Rapa.

217 Gospel of Judas

41.60 Blind Squirrel

117 Punter Pete

149 PJ

0 Maurice

377.20 Pete

0 More Moet*** (8th)

$580.20

-1 point

5 Ramones (6th)

$1401.00

5 points

The Ramones had it sewn up before the last and rubbed salt into the the wounded Moet crew when Porky picked the Toowoomba wuffie to rip Rex and hand The Ramones the maximum 5 point haul. More Moet's Triple Joker play was left in tatters and they suffer a one point deduction for failing to take a point. Porky nudged Moose aside for Man of the Match honours while Rex took Moet MVP title.

Table leaders Schitt's Creek won again and their bonus point enabled them to maintain their 7 point lead while the maximum return win for The Ramones saw them climb 4 places to nestle in the trail. Despite winning the Reapers dropped a place to 3rd while their victims - The Puppet Masters - also lost a spot in defeat. A win for the Wily Wombats saw them hold station in 5th while their victims - Drink! - lost two places in defeat. Wolf Pack lost and remain 7th while More Moet's Triple Joker failure saw them slip into a negative points position. Is that the cellar below the basement ? Long way to go yet though

The Table after ROUND 2

1st 12 Schitt's Creek ^ $1853.40

2nd 5 Ramones $2311.20

3rd 4 Reapers $2030.60

4th 3 Puppet Masters $2147.60

5th 2 Wily Wombats $1801.40

6th 2 Drink! $1576.60

7th 0 Wolf Pack $1478.60

8th -1 More Moet^ $1306.60

^ Triple Joker played

Congrats Hesi and the Reapers

Too good aided by a super BB from Tonka

Hard luck to my team 4 horses going across the line in Unison, we had 3 of them, that equates to a 75 % winning chance, a very low scoring day, for most, The Ramones the exception well done them.

I must get my computer fixed it’s showing one team at minus one, shit it must be cold down there, yet at the other end of the scale Schitt it must be hot up there

Hallelujah and praise be to Jen who found the candles…now cap’n Max can SEE, though it ain’t pretty here in the dungeon below the basement below the cellar.
And good on zabeel aka G, who gave up one of his 5Gs to turn the Net on ..otherwise we’d be ‘no shows’ for Saturday…
.i know what yer thinkin. we’re ‘no show’ anyway, whoever we play …

but lemme tell ya this….all we needed was that Zing thing of Chris Waller’s to get out 50m earlier (for Gee, Max and Rob, incl 2 x BBs) and More Moet would be bubblin’ all over, playin’ The Ramones Greatest Flops over 'n over for breakfast.

No use cryin’ over spilt bubbly, even the good stuff.

But WHERE THERE’S MOET, THERE’S HOPE ..and the only consolation of being stuck here where the sun shineth not and the icicles aint exackly singin’ in the tree roots, is that Max made up for that pathetic performance tragic bad luck on Saturday by stumbling upon a CASE or three of Vintage MOET as he wandered blindly in the dark on Sunday mornin’ …perfickly flockin COLD it is, too

So there Is a God … his name is Mr Moet to any of you plebs out there … Sir Claude to his mates and Lawdy Mister Claudy to Max and a handful of other confidants.

 Bottoms up.
