Overall Points

Howie's 2 point lead was halved today as Wandering pipped him by by $1.00 (!!) while Geoff has made nice ground to nail down 3rd ahead of PJ and Blind Squirrel - this trio being the highest-placed among those yet to wield a Joker.  Early leader Plovdiv, Graeme, TC, Ian and Maurice round out the Top 10.

Have a great New Year's Eve celebration tomorrow and the day off and we'll see you all again New Year's Day for a great card at Ellerslie plus a real staying test from Flemington.

You are not wrong PJ!
How do you let them go with a horse still out of the gates? Then only pull them up after the length of the straight!
I said to Howie a minute later that the one to come out well from this was Platinum Invader. Then I find my Sentimental Muss is scratched and I have Iskander running instead.
Lucky my TV has a strong screen 🙂

Agreed, instead of one horse missing out on running and a refund being given to punters we have three horses late scratched and their followers denied a chance plus numerous other runners probably not maximised by the shambles. Sky Racing already cracking Jokes about the standard of NZ Racing. The connections of the scratched runners should have all their expenses for the day - trainers, owners, staff, jockeys - refunded double by the ARC.

Complete farce. NZ racing at it's worst. Create a problem ....then immediately compound the problem. I hope the Aussies weren't watching ..... they're still chuckling over the cricket.
