Talk about last gasp effort there to topple the tenacious Howie  🤗  - fortunate that I took an extra puff of ventolin this morning 🙂   Fantastic match to kick off the new year Howie, cheers 🥂  and I think our tallies are close enough to say that for the want of a couple of additional punters laying down their dollars it could easily have gone the other way.

FINAL POINTS TABLE

A big congratulations to our Christmas - New Year Super 6 Challenge CHAMPION: IAN ! Showed excellent form to be 2nd after the opening round, then surged to the lead which he held for 3 rounds before slipping to 3rd and then to 6th after Hastings before coming back in the best possible way to triumph today - well done ! Robert and Midnight Caller were consistent scores across all rounds and ended up sharing 2nd spot while that darn cat Jamison struck a bad batch of cat cookies today and had to be content with 4th overall. Well done, VC ...a worthy winner of a very difficult Comp to win (or even place).

With a SuperDuper Draft looming large, certain current and past Captains will be assessing form (good, bad or indifferent) in their quest to snaffle the in-form runners for their Teams in the 15 Jan Draft Draw.

Well done, Maria.
Close call, but you got in the decisive bound when it mattered as the post loomed, after a see-sawing contest.
Grand competitive start to the New Year.
These comps are great fun.
Happy New Year, Maria. 🙂

Thanks Max

Stevie and I were looking forward to meeting you at Flemington Oaks day, but you never came and said g’day anywho hope you enjoyed yourself all the same

Looks like a close finish in our H2H in the Big Bash, you’re catching on quite quickly not bad for a MM

Thanks for running another fine comp Peter, and congratulations Ian, you appear to dusted off well the disappointment of the Spring Super Comp.  Some inspired picking, but it was always going to happen 😄

Everyone is entitled to one fluke a year

That means I only need to wait another 364 days before my next heroics 😊

Not wrong, it was a tad too chilly for VC’s liking

Pretty ave crowd I thought, Hill Stand was at about 25%

Gotta say love the entrance into Flemington, with the Helicopter’s, lined up like taxi’s,

Well done Ian and thanks once again PJ. Didnt get to follow the last couple of days on the road.

Bonny Lass had a little swelling on her leg and just a little short in her action. Vet suggested scratching so thats what happened. Hopefully back to normal and head to the Telegraph but will need to see what happens. 364 days of careful planning and placement unravelled in a few minutes but as always the horse needed to come frst and you cant take in Group Ones without everything being 100%.

Minor Compensation for us today when Zoom won at terang...glad I took the $2.50 FF as he only paid 1.20 odd....and we have Darci's Angel going tomorrow at matamata. Mainly for a run, not expecting her to win first up but she is in with a chance and is pretty talented. May head to the Breeders Stakes at matamata next month if all goes well. Its a good field to kick of her career but a couple of very talented ones in the field

Feel for ya Gary..so disappointing. Max had a share in a horse headed for the Railway and would've been a live lightweight chance, loved Ellerslie (coule run fast sectionals there and cornered well) and ran fast times over 1200m ...got a stone bruise on Xmas Eve when no vets would come out...end of Railway dream!

Racing has a funny way of balancing the books...perhaps a Telegraph instead for you, mate!
