One feature of the Spring Champions is/ was the ability to Win the New Zealand Cup - NZ Free-For-All double in Cup week.

The Double Cup winner Lazarus pulled off the double , as well as winning the 2 Main Spring lead up races of the Canterbury Classic and the Ashburton Flying Stakes as he was that dominant over his rivals in recent years.

Previously mentioned Spring Champions of the past Cardigan Bay and Lordship pulled off the Big Cup week double Nz Cup- FFA  with champion style.

    Here's some more then..........

Q1/  Who is this grand performer in this great photo , who pulled off the Cup week double ?

Q2/ The year before her great rival also won the double . with this horse in photo below 2nd in both races. Who was it that beat her?

Have been given the tip R G Burrows was Mcgarths stable hand thanks Parsnip. So makes sense now how he was disqualified.

Also just read Cullen joining Telfers HRNZ. Thats a new one. Guess clears the way now for M Purdon to announce son N Purdon as trainership partner.

Other info Iv heard not fact, so pls dont take as fact.

    1. R Dunn is acting CEO of ATC plus vice president, but members still havent heard. This info is in circulation. Yet to be confirmed from an official source.

    2. Cambridge is creating a new stabling area as local council want land back for housing. This doesnt include at this stage the training track, just stabling area. The area they plan to put new stable area on is their own land.

    3. Some from ATC members are very sad, those that have put alot of time, effort & volunteer time into club, & hearing it may only have a couple of years left. This is heartbreaking for them.

Again all hear say the last 3 points. So pls dont take as fact.

No idea re Trotsfan re M Anderson interesting. Canada rocks tho.

Signing out now folks. Maybe back nxt week.

If Robert runs the ATC like he did the Hornby tab back in the day the place will be closed down in no time at all.

george burrows was McGrath hose “doctor “. He learnt his trade working for Kevin town let back in his infamous days. Had a stint with Alan Edge not that long ago and decided to prerace his horses. Consequently Alan returned a positive test. George was then looking for a new job.
his wife trains gallopers. If you listen to the locals there the burrows stable comes under suspicion on occasions with some of their performances

One wonders why someone on course didn't tell the stipes or a HRNZ person present what is happening. Maybe they are too busy replying to the questions by Lincoln Farms?

I don’t know the answer to that but who says they didn’t.
sounds like the awards night is where a number of positives came from so surely hrnz knew this.
There COVID update issued start of this week certainly makes out they know what’s going on.

  4. I wasn’t surprised about the stuff article coming out. After rangiora on Sunday a lot of very pissed off people .

I see Neil Bennett on his Facebook page has outed Blair orange as being very sick while attending manawatu.
