When do they review track conditions? Last updated days ago.

Not the start they would have wanted today with a fall in the first race. Thankfully both jockeys ok and looks like a case of clipped heels rather than a slip.

No deterrent and the suspension should not be able to be deferred
I guess deferment is in fairness to trainers etc who have nominated and accepted horses for a race and booked jockeys. Also for punters who may have placed non refundable early bets based on a particular jockey booked.
Deliberate over whipping however should result in the loss of the race the same as careless or dangerous riding. It is our industry that is a stake and we don't need to give those against it any more ammunition.

...nearly double the permitted hits.
On the surface penalty seems quite high $50k and 7 day ban from race riding. But is it really?
Was a $5 million race. ..55% or60% to winner I'm not sure. 5% of that to jockey. Even if jockey pays the fine hes still coming out out well on top ..but ..Hey if I was the owner I'd be tempted to pay his fine....
7 day suspension ..deferred til after Cox Plate but means he's still back Derby Day....so still gets to ride in most of the big races of the spring carnival.
Is there really any deterrent here ?

Yes. Great initiative. I wonder if other clubs will follow suit?
I see Hawkes Bay yesterday had a barbecue fired up all day outside the tie-up area. Commented on and appreciated by our crew after a long trip down.

Just bumping this up
Early in the season, but the only 3 year old we have seen win at 4, is Sacred Satono
Dusty Road 4yr old R67 won the Open 1400 pretty damn impressively at Tauranga on 23rd Sept!

Legarto - Australian Guineas March 4 WIINER, spelling till Spring
Wild Night - Probably out for a spell
Maven Belle - Levin Classic ??? then Brisbane
Pier - Spelling until Spring
Sharp 'N' Smart - Derby WINNER. Onto the Aus Derby and Queen Elizabeth
Devildom - ??
Sacred Satono - 7th Challenge Stakes at Randwick, next??
Dynastic - ??
Devastate - ??
Desert Lightning - ??
Mark Twain - Nominated for the Aus Derby, also with Andalus and Full Of Sincerity
The Intimidator - Levin Classic, good win today
Prowess - Bonecrusher Stakes, Vinery?? They will want an Aus G1 and will be encouraged by Legarto's win
Cognito - Levin Classic?
Waitak - ??
Best Seller - ??
Polygon - Aus, ATC Oaks
Lickety Spilt - ??
Mr Maestro - Rosehill Guineas?? after poor run today
Cruz Missile - Higgins at Awapuni on April 1, apparently does not like Te Rapa
Denby Road -??
As predicted, the Levin Classic field has fallen away. At best second tier horses for a 350K G1
I would say that most of the Derby runners will be spelled, some with a view to Brisbane, none will go to Sydney other than SNS and Andalus, although Mark Twain and Full Of Sincerity are also nominated for the Aus Derby
Lol...some of us quite happy to be a second tier horse with a chance at a Group 1 race

Disappointed in the new graphics. May as well be a 10 horse maximum in any race! Never show the full field. Never show what the full is stake for a race.
