Bob would have been one of NZ’s most astute horseman, ever. He was so hard to beat in front as he had a great judge of pace, run them then stack ‘em up, sprint again, it really was an art, magic to watch.

Bonny wee mare Robin Dundee right there, first to the post in the Miracle Mile in the first sub 2.00 minute mile in the southern hemisphere. Amazing to think she’d tail the field by some 150m today, but then with her heart, she would’ve kept up I reckon.
