  1. I watched the race with quite some interest as I had trebles going and also as great team Turbo man Gazz has a share in Aquaoir.

My impression (other than f*ck I dont have Rua Rocks) was it was a beautiful display of front running riding by the apprentice.

She may have gone a little hard early on but if you watch the last 600m she doesn't panic when they start to close around the turn, she still sits quietly early in the run home to give her horse the best chance to find a kick and when she finally goes for him those actions for the previous 400m pay a huge dividend as he holds them out quite comfortably.

Well done Miss Hannan - a quality effort by both horse and rider

Eighty year-old couple have become pretty stale in the bedroom and nothing is really doing it for them these days.

The wife decides she needs to take the lead and spice things up so she orders a slinky, skin tight superwoman suit.

It arrives a couple of weeks later so while hubby is out at the shops she shimmies her way into it and waits for his return.

When he opens the door she waits until he is inside and walking to the kitchen and leaps out in front of him and yells "Super Vagina"

He looks at her and says... I'll have the Soup please!!

  3. Pam Pam Pam - I had Snapper as my third choice and decided to play it safe. Whata mistaka ta maka!!

Congratulations Maxi and the Kauri Kats, an epic battle and if I recall we did the same to you in the round robin with a late winner. Well done Pam you never gave up and got it done at the death

To the magnificent Turbos, so close and yet so far. Every week my magnificent team mates stepped up and did the business and it looked as if you had done it again.

Ray, Steve, Gazz and Zig you are awesome blokes, I'm grateful for all the support and I hope we can combine again and exact our revenge!

And speaking of magnificence c'mon down PJ, another superb comp with amazing matches and your scoring and admin is truly a wonderful thing. Go well my friend!

All a bit of a joke

A premium meeting, with good stakes and good fields will be run on a known bog track, 50 minutes away at Pukekohe, probably with wholesale scratchings, when it could have been run on a reasonable track 20 minutes away in Central Auckland, with few scratchings.  That's parochialism for you.

Not sure how many here have ever run a major event like Melbourne Cup day but if they wanted a guaranteed financial disaster then you try and shift the meeting to Avondale on 3 days notice. It is not turnover that underpins this type of meeting like it did back when you were wearing short pants!!!

  5. A tense day with the Squirrel trying to be a good sport but mumbling many threats to Sebrenco under his breath!!!

Thanks Rees for pummeling me into submission...yet again! Your ability to pick multiple double figure winners is legendary.

However it is a team game and the four remaining Turbo's were magnificent as they scrapped all day to send us into the final.

Thanks Maria and the Swampies, an awesome game befitting a semi final.

Thanks team Turbo - another super effort and we now look forward to tackling those puddies next week.

And finally thanks PJ - you are amazing.

  6. By my humble calculations I think the turbo's have kept their noses in front to down the Maggies.

Jase you smashed the Squirrel today - well played fella! Commiserations Maggies as you practically led from go to whoa but were nabbed late (Just like my firking massive win multi finishing on Deep Beauty in the last at Te Rapa aaaarrggh)

Unfortunately Ray we were the bunnies today but Gaz, Stevie P and Zig stepped up and carried us home - thanks fellas. Well played to all and looking forward to a semifinal showdown next week once PJ has settled the dust!

  7. Looks like the Turbos have come up a tad short in our quest for victory!

Well played Ferdies - a titanic struggle. Maurice has kicked my furry butt again although with a tally of nearly $550 I could ask the question what does a rodent need to do to win a match!!

Good work Turbos we went down in a tooth and nail scrap as my old grandad used to say "while we were getting a hiding at least the opposition were getting half a hiding back"

Onwards to next week and hopefully we are still in the fight for top 4!

    cheers Pj

Empire Rose beats Natski - Natski is ahead of the mares hindquarters but she was so big he was still a head shy of victory!

  10. Full time called ob Chiefs v Turbo's and a resounding win for Jack and the Chiefs. Sorry no race by race extrapolation but suffice to say that a couple of well placed BB’s saw the Chiefs take this one out 4-1 with Ray the outstanding performer for the beaten Turbo’s who bowed to the might of Tassie who put up a huge tally to lead the Chiefs home.

Chiefs take 3 points for the victory and a bonus for their team total so by my calculations a 12 point haul with their Triple joker play. Great work Chiefs well played!! but a good effort by the Turbos who still put up some good figures but were just outgunned.

  11. Round 4 - Sat October 1

    Race 10 – Randwick Race 9

    1st – 6 No Compromise $6.60

    2nd – 2 Le Don De Vie Q-$17.10

    Scr: 9, 13

    3 Chiefs*** (3rd) 1041.20

    2 Turbos (2nd) 710.60

Half time oranges appear as Ray is the only one to find the ex-Kiwi No Compromise for the Turbo’s. He also had the previous winner as a BB so aggregates changed to reflect this as the Chiefs lead narrowly on match score and by a stack on the aggregate as both teams trudge to the changing room to prepare for the NZ leg on Wednesday and the scorer drops from exhaustion.

Note to self: MUST do better

    582.80 Ray

  12. Round 4 - Sat October 1

    Race 9 – Flemington Race 7

    1st – 6 Smokin’ Romans $22.50

    2nd – 15 Maximal Q-$203

    Scr: 3,10

    3 Chiefs*** (3rd) 1041.20

    2 Turbos (2nd) 419.60

Smokin Romans upsets and provides The Tassie Tiger with a mighty BB as teammate Robert bags his third winner in a row to blast the Chiefs aggregate out of the park. Ray replies for The Turbos to keep the match score on a knife edge going into the last Aussie race of the day

    66.80 Jack

    39 Blind Squirrel

    61 Lightning Blue

    291.80 Ray

    0 Gee

    22 Steve P

    583.60 Tassie Tiger

    0 Gary

    329.80 Robert

    66.80 Zig

Far too many permutations for the furry brain to handle in the last although Chiefs would hope for Mankayan or Durston while Chiefs chanting Stockman, Arapaho or Hameron
