  2. I'm so incredibly sad to read this, this morning.   RIP lovely lady.

Thoughts are with her family and friends, especially Heather and Sharne, big virtual hugs to you both.

Very good LB ! Absolutely spot on ! Tucked away in the South East corner of the shores of the Caspian Sea.

Grrr I thought it looked like fig or olive trees and so I got sidetracked on searching for tracks with those inside them 🙂   Well done LB 👍

Nope . . . the comment directly followed this :-

    1) Styx and Kaos will quite likely make the Finals even without a TJ play.

The post in its entirety read as :-

Interesting..... what it does highlight is that:

    1) Styx and Kaos will quite likely make the Finals even without a TJ play.

    2) Team captains will need to consider in future an earlier deployment of the TJ rather than leaving it to the later rounds. Contemplative perusal of the draw at the start of the Round Robin looks critical.

But as I said a moment ago, let's forget and move on.

I'd take that as a compliment 🙂   I guess we see things differently 🙂

    Forget I spoke, people. 😊
I regret I "saw red" over something, and although some people's subsequent posts indicated only a limited level of comprehension of the core issue that I "saw red" over, I can confirm that my tantrum is now over.
Let's get back to focussing on what a wonderful competition this is. I look forward to it every Saturday.

Yay party at Howie's place 🙂

You don't think so, Maria ?
    Really ?
How else do you think I am supposed to interpret this :-

I think it was meant for teams like mine, or me 🙂    but then results over this lot of rounds fell into place for us a bit, two rounds ago, not looking so rosy as to who we could play but then I didn't want to play it earlier, so I dont know 🙂     It was taken out of your hands, so this statement doesn't refer to you at all 🙂

Not concerned about team Styx missing out on the finals because of not being able to execute a Triple Joker play.
I believe we have a great chance of making the Finals without it . . . and even if we didn't make the Finals in all honesty that wouldn't cause me to miss a moment's sleep. Fun comp, with nothing on the line.
What I was concerned about was the implication that as Team Captain I had mismanaged the playing of the Triple Joker this round. That I did take offence to, and if you think I need to take a chill pill as Maxi suggests then fair enough. I felt I had a point to make . . . and I was damn well gonna make it !

I don't think you mismanaging was an issue or referred to at all... anyone that can play a TJ and earn 15 points is huge!  but in this comp it has ramifications down the line,  and it was how the draw fell  .. look at me...  I need the TJ to get my team home 🙂   Hey you can always shine the light on me... Look where you guys are 🙂

Not worried about points at all, Maria . . . just a fun comp with nothing on the line . . .  just concerned about the implication that somehow Styx (or more specifically, me) mismanaged the playing of the Triple Joker in the 2nd round, whereas as I pointed out, and pointed out right at the start of the 2nd round, there was going to be almost certainly no chance whatsoever of team Styx getting to play the Triple Joker.

I was posting that with a smile Howie, and I understand what you were saying ...   but now it's got out of hand a bit and if the TJ is going to each comp, cause issues, as it has for the past couple, then perhaps it's better that it is not in play at all.   I like you, play it for fun, but not if it starts causing everyone to get upset and challenge everything.

For this comp, you are home and hosed Howie 🙂 unlike us 🙂  perhaps relying now on the TJ 🙂      Let's see what we can put in place with PJ's agreement for the next comp 🙂

Putting aside the good natured banter Howie, and in the very unlikely event you missed the finals having not being able to play your TJ through no fault of your own then I think that is inherently unfair.  Maybe a rule mod for the next comp PJ.  The Reapers were fortunate to get the win in the last draft comp, only by the cards falling the right way in the last round, but I guess if they had not, there would have been some contemplative perusal lol, at not been able to play the TJ

Where does this stop?   Wasn't the three below put in place last time to compensate for teams, now what..   we put in place that the top two teams can play it at any time in the last two rounds?       Why not just take it away..    It's getting ridiculous.

  10. I'll have stab at Taranto, Italy?

Prob should say why... it looks like a harness track to me and it also looks like lights every few metres and Taranto also has trees around the inside of the track.   Taranto has wonderful night racing.. what a fun track 🙂 Should be on everyone's bucket list 🙂

  11. Cheers for the match Rayzor and KAOS and well done.   It was a match with a bit of chaos with so many opportunities over a day of some random winner racing and I think the dollar totals overall spelt that out 🙂

Good stuff Showstoppers in gaining a point for higher total 🙂  and shout out to Platinum who stand Jukebox.  The run of Johnny Rocker today was awesome, he was closing fast on the Imp and definitely will go on.

  12. Amazing isn't it.   Kumai carried over 11 stone (72kg) for the win.   There have been some amazing horses over the years.

Thanks for the game today, Maria and Showtime.
A hard-fought battle that could have gone either way, right to the end.
As PJ alluded to, the 4-1 margin was no reflection of the tight tussle right through the card.
Good luck as you strive to make the play-offs, team Showtime.
Thanks for a big effort today, team Styxsters ! Not for the first time in this comp Gordy pulled off a big play in the shadows of the post to get us a very useful extra point. Beware, Pete . . . your Blues team-mate is a-comin' for ya next Saturday ! 😁
Unsung hero for the franchise remains the ever-reliable Our Maizcay, churning out really good results week-by-week, and today's ManPerson-Of-Our-Match.
Thanks for another absorbing day of competition, PJ. First-class, as always.
Team Styx have always had at the forefront of our minds the playing of our Double Joker in the final round, against 5-0 Maxi Factory. However given that the Reapers appear to have completely compounded/capitulated, the playing of our Double Joker may well come sooner than we originally anticipated. This matter will be #1 item on the agenda at our caucus meeting this coming week. Watch this space ! 🙂

Cheers Howie 🙂   Thanks for the match... 🙂   all the best as Styx strive to hold on to your play off position 🙂
