txt messages on day of addington derby about giving some help to a couple of horses from one stable was intercepted by police
ah yes the float driver in his 50s
charged with conspiring with another person to manipulate a race result by "administering a substance" to a horse before the race "in order to gain a pecuniary advantage, namely the winning stakes".
not all stars though

I have a question why with all the wire tapping in inca inquiry wasn,t allstars caught talking about doping horses etc
it went on for quite a significant period [phone taping etc ] surely it would have come up in conversations like it did with others
They faced no charges so I am thinking not. I don't think horse doping was a charge anyone faced.

Mr Newman was advised a medical clearance is required.
Doc A Butterfly would have prescribed panadol, rest and hydration as part of his medical clearance.

Searched this horse Melina Lowe - saw 1 Disqualification but under Stripes report didn’t say anything further. Says another trainer trained horse. Could you please explain a bit more?

If they try things they are 'caught' just like anyone else. The caffiene resulted in 4 Nelson horses being disqualified 2017.
Probably not them on that occasion especially being post Melina lol

Interesting re has been Dunn has done before. Did not know that.
Recently you have a record breaking time re Sundees Son & stable mate 2nd. That 2nd for me was an interesting one for me. Then you have Mark Dunnett & He’s a Cassonva + I think another 1. PLUS another 1 that the hobby trainer got pulled up by the stripes for not filling a horse stable movement extension (and got fined for that). Now this 1. That for me is starting to raise a flag.
Melina Lowe was kinda interesting.

Thanks Happy for your post, and sharing your observations. They are important, but it's almost like noone, or at least not many people care too much about this b/s, or they are just too scared to pass comment.
Too bu$y getting on and getting plenty ?

I quite like the 'Everest' Idea of buying Slots in a race , and 'doing a deal' with owners and trainers of various fantastic horses.
The Everest is a brilliant idea and well suited to the market there.
The 150k top up for the Cambridge Slot Race is way way short of what it needed to be based on the 75k slot holder fee.

Date: Thursday April 14, 2022
Venue: Cambridge Raceway

Preferential Draw: 3YOs then MaresIt seems safe to assume it is a mobile start .......... I think

You need the Very Best in the country for a race of this magnitude. Not a hope in the world of getting off the ground with 'restricted' class horses.
Some of those 6yo+ R40-49 races were very competitive.

Cambridge has real issues. Lack of horse numbers, lack of opportunities for juniors, poor stakes etc. It needs to start with the basics first, not go for the glitz and glamour. Honest decent heartland racing is the foundation of growth. It's about priorities
1) Do you know if Cambridge showed a profit from hosting the Jewels.
2) If yes, has this resulted in improvements in some areas?

2) How many remember the days of brackets , one of my favourite combinations was Wag & Tony Bear,? those were the days with huge fields.
Only just, were the TAB agency tickets handwritten on yellow paper. Carbon paper was involved. Has to be pre 1980.

Agree, loo paper isn't essential, as in the "old days" we used cut up squares of newpaper. There is always other alternatives, such as pages of books.
Hopefully the Trotting Calendar never met this fate.

I don't hear from him much since his initial burst.
Where should I be looking?
