PWJ Posted October 23, 2019 Share Posted October 23, 2019 Hi everyone. Round 13 will be split between 5 races at Te Rapa on Labour Day (Mon Oct 28) and 5 races on Bendigo Cup Day (Wed Oct 30). These will be on two separate selection threads. You will be required to select firstly for Monday's comp races only, up until first comp race on Monday. Selections for Bendigo can be made up until Comp Race 6 (1st comp race from Bendigo) on Wednesday. In other words the round is completely split for posting selections. Aggregate scores in head-to-head and all other rules still apply. Yes, you may select tactically for races 6-10 at Bendigo depending on your position in your head-to-head HOWEVER>>>> In addition to the minimum of 6 different selections (from your opponent) across the 10 races, you will be required to have at least 4 (FOUR) different selections in the 5 races at Bendigo, if you post after your opponent. Posting early might be an advantage. The reasons for this are obvious - to prevent people with a personal lead simply copying their opponents selections to guarantee a win. PWJ Posted October 23, 2019 Author Share Posted October 23, 2019 Interestingly the Bendigo Cup has been won over the years by such good types as Magistrate (twice), Gallic (twice), Al Dwain, Puissance de Lune, Forlorna, and Zupacool. The Bendigo Cup has been a last minute late, late lifeline for horses looking to get a run in the Melbourne Cup and is very keenly contested.
