Auckland Thoroughbred Racing

I note that in keeping with current arrangements, that they are racing as ATR on Boxing Day at Pukekohe and Auckland Cup day also at Pukekohe.

But their NYD, and Derby Day meetings are at Te Rapa, not as ATR, but as Waikato Racing Club????

Why is this, can Pukekohe not handle 2 days, each a week apart.

You can see where this going, 1000 Guineas at Te Rapa, and 2,000 Guineas at Ellerslie, which will be a real blow for the South Island.

I note also, that on NYD, the Queen Elizabeth is back, as a 200K 2400 handicap.  I presume, this is at the expense of the City Of Auckland Cup.  Back to the future.
