Softball world cup

Anybody interested in the World Cup of softball starting at Rosehill park today.

IMO a great sport but a sport that has suffered badly from lack of sponsorship and NZs  love affair with touch rugby and rugby 7s both that now dominate summer sports

I played Softball in my younger days as did most in the Wellington region. For many years The National Championship was mainly between Hutt Valley and Wellington with Auckland getting the odd look in.

 

In fact, the game was so big, Wellington and Hutt Valley had their separate competitions.

Just watched NZ v Argentina tonight....Great game , Argentinians had what it takes to be World champions ... Well thought out plan .

I changed channels when it was nz 3 -1.I think it was the 6th innings.Must have been exciting to watch the last few innings.
