Wishing you all the best for the series Neil.
Gosh, 42 years ago since my first horse was in the trotters series at Addington. Time goes when we are having fun!!!
Cheers.
Robert.
yes it sure does - twice second in the final - is this third time lucky?

Congrats to Majestic Man & connections for his heat win.
geez that is a long straight - MM will take a lot of improvement as not done a lot with travel and recovery after that dodgy Dominion

Someone suggested so here is a Zoom option - I'm working but can assign the host to others to keep the room open and I can pop in and out and as long as I am there to start it should be fine
Will see if this works

Yes, certainly do know the trotters Rees. Time is always their friend.
on the trotters delighted to have Love is Everywhere win today - Michael imported the stallion and i helped him promote him but after a late arrival he only served 6 mares and 3 of them were ours. Two are dead now including our half to Majestic Man but looks like he would have clicked well with Sundon mares given how well gaited our filly is - time has certainly helped her.

Two big Trot races today, one for $130k & other $180k both won by top 2 year old sire Walner. He is killing it with his first crop
Anthony McDonald supplemented Threepointbluechip into the colts and geldings race at a cost of $20k - great result to win it

Hi Neil,
I also think at one stage through the 80's , the Dominion was raced on the last night.
Cheers.
Robert.
I'm sure you are right - the same night as the Allan Matson FFA

G'Day Karrots, robert, NZ.
Sorry if I have missed something. (pretty big week Aus gallops this week) BUT Why are Sundees Son and Muscle Mountain NOT in the NZ trotting FFA at 100k ????
Might be answered there already but i missed it. $100,000 races don't go everyday , and the 2 best trotters in the Nation missing ??? what is going on ?
many trainers been lobbying for them to swap the FFA and the Dominion - Robert Dunn spoke against it at one of the industry meetings and they listened to him and his owner on the Board. So a bloody stupid decision and they deserve a 6 horse field when the double acceptors scratch.

So is Dark Horses first start, absolutely phenomenal and I thought I was watching a Sir Castleton finish. 80 mtrs behind at one stage and mowed them down in the straight. Interesting to see another of our horses Cuddly Jess in that race , above.
Can you find Dark Horses first race Karrots, well worth a watch.
it was a mistake - the horse was Cuddly Trouble - corrected after that one call - and yes Dark Horse was impressive in that win

The gentleman on the left is Ron Burrell who bred Mission - when Regency Standardbreds purchased him and Ron found out he was being raced by a syndicate he joined the syndicate - he also gave a money back guarantee that if Mission didnt win a race the Syndicate Manager could go and pick any horse out of his paddock - Ron's comment after a first start win was "a hell of a way to get out of a bet"

After a dreadful performance last Friday night by Arden Velosity, blood tests have shown there is a wee problem, so he has had four days rest, and antibiotic treatment, and has resume work again.
On a brighter note, well hopefully it will be, our next horse is "launched" tonight. Ultimate Missile has had a thorough build up to starting his racing career, so a bold run is expected.
good luck - you have the Ultimate Missile - we just have the basic bog standard one

On a totally different subject Neil.
Were you aware that the new calendar panel/committee that has just released the plan for the new season, had no North Island representative on it? Yes, there was North Islanders invite to the workshops, but no one in the actual decision making group.
very poor but North getting well looked after with Chair really looking after Cambridge

Thanks for that Neil.
So, does that mean horses born now, will turn one on 1st January 2023
I see Alan isn't training his horses currently.
yes - 1 January 2023
he still has his licence

The breeding season stays the same with the spring foaling - the horses don't turn 1 on the 1st of january so the best bit is Alan Clark won't be able to race his yearling trotters that he races before their actual 2nd birthday

Wow what a great win for the connections Muscle Mountain. Gee didn’t see that coming, from the parked spot!!
Nice run too by M Man, had his chance, stuck on nicely for 2nd. The top 3 put a bit of a slight break on the others.
Did the Whale say it was a track record?
Looks like @Lightning Blue you are on the money so far today. Just need Self A too come in. Giddy up.
NZ Record - Majestic Man did his best but that it some horse that beat him - very impressive - Mile rate 1.53.2
We just couldnt overcome the Mardy jinx factor 😉

he didnt even seem himself getting off the float and had to be driven hard to lead - vets will check and see how he is but short turn around to Newcastle and another long trip - might be turning the page but will stay for racing in new year when maybe some other kiwis go over like bolt for brilliance - like they say - thats racing! we have been thru that all before - way back when I raced Castletons Mission he "bolted" in one of the heats - staggered hom 5th from memory and not sure how Michael House got him up again in the week before the final and he was just beaten by Take A Moment in the final so miracles can happen. we may need one
