  11. When his horses were on the go, it was like they had an extra leg, and gear.
  12. I think he was a formidable punter as well from memory Rees.
  13. Talking about Trentham Maria. What about those Peter Louie horses, I think that is how you spelt his surname, they would have awful form, and then bang, they would perform out of their skin. He was obviously a very skilled, and cunning trainer.
  14. Thanks Maria do you think I might have been thinking of Cuss and not Gus?
  15. Grey Way did sometimes lead, but was very versatile, and could be positioned anywhere really.
  16. Hi Freda. Do you remember if Magellan that Helen Preston had was a front runner? I think Greek Magic, and Brutus, that Ray Harris had were, but stand corrected.
  17. How about Jumpers. Smoke Ring. No Offence. Brockton.
  18. I will start the ball rolling. Jan's Beau. Deb's Mate. Blue Nile. Catering King. Game. Panagor. Shewetta. Fredrick. Goliath. Gus. Our Boyfriend. Greek Meer. Kotare Chief.
  19. Even though I lived in the South Island, Alwick was generally in the second leg of the double in the central districts, and i am fairly sure was a front running horse, liked wet tracks, gave his best, and most of the time was rundown. I am going to start a thread of front running horses, as back in the "old days" 60's,70's, and 80's there was genuine front running horses. Start searching the brain fellow Race Placers.
