  1. You're not wrong, PJ. Piko will be racing past a few. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  2. Joker and Bye team players won't be happy with these hot favourites rolling in. ๐Ÿ˜’ $1.70 + $1.70 win dividends aren't gonna get teams close to a Team Profit. Not doin' much for the king and his Roughnecks, either.
  3. This will be a momentous week in this Comp. Why ? Because it will be the last week you see Piko running 7th in this Comp. Biding our time in the early running .... our winning run started last Saturday. Will loop the field ..... and finish too strongly for hapless opposition. Trifecta will be (in this order of finish):- - Piko - MX5 - Roughnecks See ya Saturday, folks ! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  4. I never worry about my game, king, that's why I've been in these comps 15 years. If I worried ...I'd have been gone long ago. ๐Ÿ˜‰ May your good run continue, king ....well, the Roughnecks are hoping so.
  5. Isn't our 'Piko' man Richie playing a 'blinder' this comp ! Brilliant. That enigmatic fella Gee is also noticed having a great campaign for the 'Roughnecks'. Once most well-known for the record number of '0's in PJ Super Comp history, the recently self-anointed 'king' seems to have grown a leg and now seen blasting hapless opponents into oblivion week-by-week. One of the most feared opponents for sure. Great recovery, Mr king. ๐Ÿ™‚
  6. Sharpen your pencils guys ???? I think more like pray for a miracle, Rees ! ๐Ÿ˜„ The 'Piko' roadshow is starting to rumble along the tracks ominously now - a very welcome 3 points into the bank account yesterday .... and maintaining a very strong 7th position just in behind the leading pack, poised ready to pounce ! Round 2 will be the Piko's time ..... so you other miscellaneous mobs better watch out ! The 'Piko' are a comin' for ya ! ๐Ÿ˜‰ I think it was the great man Muhammad Ali who best described the sort of chance the 'Crazy Horses' will have in their Joker play against the 'Piko' next Saturday. 'Slim' and 'None'. ....and 'Slim' just left town. ๐Ÿ™‚
  7. Once again Just Plodded features in the 'Narrowest Winning Margin' category ! Only this time ..... on the wrong side of the ledger ! ๐Ÿ˜ Life can be a b#@ch sometimes. ๐Ÿ™‚
  8. Mmmm ...it's dark down here in the cellar ..... never been here before ..... dark and dingy and a world away from my desk in Piko's luxury pad in Downtown Auckland. Good news though ....we're gettin' out of this cellar soon ... word is that a new mob have signed the cellar tenancy agreement. That's right, Crazy Horseys ... Piko is looking at YOU ! ๐Ÿ™‚ I do believe that Geoff's exact words were "imminently beatable !", and I can only but agree. Well we Piko got 'Hot Toddy'-ed ! ๐Ÿคจ Hearty congratulations to Super Captain Maria, 12.00am Caller and the 'Hot Toddy' team ....you've got a nice little team there and a 'Top 3' placing at Comp's end is certainly well within your scope. I'll give you the Lowdown .....things go your way at the right time and you could well take this whole thing out, Hot Toddys. I didn't post last night cos I was called in to our Piko sponsor's tent at short notice for a "please explain" in respect to our precarious position on the points ladder. Sure I could have fallen on my sword, a principled Captain would have done that ...but at the time a better option seemed to be ..... throwing Geoff under the bus. I explained that Geoff was struggling with the nuances and intricacies of team vice-captaincy, and as he hopefully grows into the role a significantly improved Team Piko performance will be forthcoming. That should have bought me a bit of time ...... ๐Ÿ™‚ Big 'ups' to our Piko man Richie today ...... 6 winners ! Legend !....... definite Vice-Captaincy potential ! ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Please post early next week Richie, so your team-mates can get in and 'copy and paste' ! ๐Ÿ˜Š To hang with the spirit of the game ... we're in the damn cellar ! We'll show those Lowdown what's what ! Many thanks for another good day's entertainment, PJ. You're always the No.1 Legend..... Richie No.2. Would have been a great day's entertainment ... but we didn't win ...... so I've had to downsize to good day's entertainment. Still with me, Rees ??.......... ๐Ÿ™‚ Well done on your own impressive score today, Rees.
  9. hmmmm ...... could be one step too far for the very astute 12.00am C. Cos I'm gonna be bringing my 'A' game. Finally. ๐Ÿ˜Š Then there were four ....... ๐Ÿ™‚
  10. 12 lines when we lose ........ it would have been 20 lines if we'd won. Consider yourself spared, Rees. ๐Ÿ™‚. You can head off to dinner early.
  11. Dreadful day at the office today for us Piko .........completely white-washed on our Joker play by Roland's Roughnecks on a day when finding winners proved too difficult for our alumni. Congratulations to my Mighty Blues mates Roland and Gordy who starred for the Roughnecks, and Dino chiming in very nicely with his NZ BB early in the day paying very well. Even the 'Yeeha' fella got going late in the day ๐Ÿ˜. This must just about see the Roughnecks in the lead, or 2nd at worst .....a very impressive turnaround. So where to from here for the Piko ? .... with Championship Winner honours now clearly beyond us. Well we're what ya call 'nuisance value' from here on in ..... looking to take down those teams at or near the top-of-the-leaderboard. I think we can pull off a surprise or two. ๐Ÿ™‚ Hard luck today Richie, Tom, Geoff, & Hesi. Just one of those days. Many thanks for today's entertainment, PJ. With the MX5 quickly coming back to the field this comp is wide open. Joker plays crucial, as always, as we saw today. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks. ๐Ÿ™‚
  12. Yep ...that sounds like Fullers. One of the more disappointing businesses here in Auckland City.
  13. Forget about 'Teflon John' Key .......... this fella Geoff runs rings around him. Just about every Saturday ...on the wall of fame...... there he is ..... Lowest Winning Score .... Geoff Like clockwork. ๐Ÿ˜„ Wears it as a 'badge of honour'. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  14. Wow ...we Piko slid from 3rd down to 6th on the back of today's loss to the Usain Colt. A low-scoring affair today, where there were small margins in all 5 personal matchups. It was that closeness that created the interest for sure. Congrats to Ian and his Usain Colts, bouncing back to form nicely and getting in the decisive stride courtesy of Gerda at Hastings where all 5 of their alumni found the $3.80 favourite at a crucial time, with only the 2 Australian races to follow. The ray of light for the Piko is that there was serious consideration given to playing the Joker against the Usain Colt today .....and in hindsight I'm sure glad we didn't. So where to from here for the Piko ? Most likely Jokering up next Saturday for an all-out bid for glory against that ruffian roughnecks mob. That's right ...take on the self-anointed 'king' ...Gee. ๐Ÿ˜„ I'll put a case to our caucus. This comp is very, very close apart from the MX5 who have cleared out ...... any loss of form there and this comp remains open for any team to win this whole thing. Inspired Joker plays will be crucial, as always. Many thanks PJ for another good day's racing comp entertainment. Would have been a great day's entertainment .......only if we won. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Some of us hope we never again in coming weeks see those fateful words from you in your prelude to the final race ........ ' Piko can't win'. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ Rees...WAKE UP ! ..... you might be mssing something important. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  15. Usain Colt have wandered off script ! ๐Ÿ˜Š This is very disappointing. Scores are very close in each match-up however, and though we've lost 3 races on the programme making our job that much more difficult, we can still win this thing. The fightback begins ..... Team Piko...................... C=H-A-R-G-E !! ๐Ÿ˜‰
  16. Le Grazie is is an interesting runner in the last of our NZ races. 1 start for 1 win ..... by 2.3 lengths when a $4 favourite. Back in May 2019. Is now owner-trained. I was nearly tempted.
  17. Goodness gracious ..... Yardam hadn't won a race since July 2015 ! No wonder it was on hardly anyone's radar. Kudos to the owner/(s) though ...... that's admirable perseverance for sure.
  18. No surprise that Gary and his Usain Colt are very big on 'Akela Belle' in the next. All 5 of them on that fine little racemare 'Akela Belle'. ๐Ÿ™‚ Loyal. Team Piko have turned to Major Tom (4 of us) to get the job done.
  19. Well we mightn't have won our match ..but we certainly featured in despatches. ๐Ÿ˜ƒ
  20. Been out at the baptism of my grandson Ollie today here in Auckland, and in looking through the events race by race I see that MX5 fresh off a top win last Saturday had control of our matchup for much of today. But a great fightback from our Piko boys late in the day took the match right to the wire and earning a hard-earned valuable 2 competition points to match the points earned by the high-flying MX5. A good day all-round then. Top efforts by our Geoff, Tom and Hesi ...and in particular Richie with his outstanding Man-of-the-Match performance. Well done Maxi, Craig and team, comp leaders and an absolute force to be reckoned with this comp. Whether you can run away from the field like Incentivise does every start, well, the jury's out on that one ๐Ÿ˜„..suffice to say though that you're definitely the team in the zone. Well done to you too Wuffie Wob in our personal matchup today, many thought that youcoulddoosit...and you did ! ๐Ÿ˜„ Inspired selection by Wob in the bush race at Eagle Farm, even more so by Richie with his BB ! ๐Ÿ™‚ Have I left space and time for Rees's observations on the day's proceedings ?? ๐Ÿ™‚ Sorry Rees ..... your pre-allotted allocation has been diluted .....and in fact ...... has gone. Maybe next week, eh. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Thanks for another great day's PJ Super Comp entertainment, PJ. Winter racing ain't easy .....but it's always fun to watch and be a part of. Best wishes to Sir Rex, hope he's ok, vital and particularly valued member of the PJ Comp community. Enjoy the rest of your weekend, folks.
  21. Looks like you've got an easier run in than me, Richie. Work your magic, young fella. ๐Ÿ˜„
  22. Gulp ! I think I better 'Phone-A-Friend' ! ๐Ÿ˜
  23. A tough day for all teams today, with only the MX5 getting a Team Profit (just) and no other team really close. Dino was a standout for the Roughnecks, getting them front of us Team 'Piko' (playing our 'Bye' game) down the Aussie leg and keeping them there. Well done, Dino. ๐Ÿ™‚ For us Team 'Piko' a particularly good contribution from Hesi, a valuable acquisition for the team. Pleased to get 1 point from our 'Bye' game, to get us on the scoreboard. Thanks very much for this midwinter comp, PJ. This will be a great interest, on cold, wet Saturday winter afternoons. Now it's off to watch the Mighty Blues rugby team overwhelm a plucky Highlanders at 'The Fortress' - Eden Park. Too much power in the forwards. Another trophy into the Blues cabinet. ๐Ÿ˜€.
  24. Roughnecks look to have gotten away from us Piko in the aggregates, so our mission here is to chase down the Hot Toddy aggregate (we're currently some $50 behind).
  25. Good luck with that, the second horse. Winner was wayward sure, but would have doubled its margin if kept straight.
