karrotsishere
Workouts weekend in North, saw some speed machines back in action. Norths TOP 2yos stepping out. Merlin, Forever Me, Kalula Flyby, Rock n Roll Hammer. Also Top OCs Copy That & up & comer Old Town Road. Merlin show excellent speed to come from back & run straight past stable mates Montana DJ & Major Perry. Last 400 26.9 Kalua Flyby also showed big speed, also coming from back running straight past her older rivals. Rock n Roll Hammer had too much speed for Forever Me in their heat (But it has been printed Forever Me lacks that high speed & is more stamina horse). Copy That good stand start manners. Up & comer Old Town showing high speed to win the heat. Last 400 26.2 Wonder how a horse called Hey Bartender (Lou) is getting on & if this year he will join the OC ranks ... Also Top OCs Copy That & up & comer Old Town Road. *Kalua Flyby too good for rivals. Too much speed. *Forever Me nice 3rd after working to front. Punters note - Telfer had advised Kalua Flyby was more forward of 2. Not sure what happened to *Rock n R Hammer. Perfect run 1/1, broke 400m. (Special mention 2nd place *On Dealine - he was reported brought Gavel House for less than $2k. Great buy, sat parked on a slick MR slushy track & smart field. Top 4 home 3 fillies 1 boy. Wow how good was *Copy That. So much stronger. Look out Southern folk, hes back bigger & better! Again gd stand start manners helped him eat up his handicap quick. 4 wide from 600m. *Old Town nice win fresh up. Needs more work on stand start. But all you can do is win. In other results another nice 2nd for *Ultimate Missle DR, sat parked. Couldnt quite reel back *Nicolas Cage, whose now showing potential it was earlier talked about he had. In sad news, for owner S Butcher, to see his horse not go home 😪. Must of suffered heart attack or stroke. As horse upon falling was paralazyed in legs. At least happened prior race . Re other workout/trials this week. Havent watched but noted *BJ Joe needs to seriously work on stand start manners. In South heat he must of botched start again. Chopping up the Camb track today, running home in 26 & change & MR under 2.00. Fast on that track. Beating Kango home Hey Bardender. What people may not realise is he only has had approx 1-6 runners per meeting & usually gets a winner & 2-3 placings. Good strike rate. But moving forward 2yos HOOVES on ground. They are starting to step out. The biggest sire crop 2yos of all NZ. Sweet Diamond & Camarlite tough runs sitting parked placing 4th. A win will be on short notice for both as well as Mckendrick & Watermelon Sugar. Forever Me another win is immiment. A number of them hitting workouts & trials as well as a few not far away. Hugo Mcquire sold & exported after 2 wins on bounce. As too Lusaka. On 8/14/2022 at 9:19 AM, karrotsishere said: Merlin stable mates Montana DJ & Major Perry. Merlin, Major Perry & Montana DJ winners. On another note - how good is the current Lincoln Farms article about D Green purchase of My Copy. A hardcase story & worth a read. Very endearing.
