Not the point about it happening at other stables, TA are a standout & charge accordingly. If you do that your systems & processes better stack up or else you will fall from grace.
I'll take a guess. $40,000 fine.

When I worked in a stable the trainer would mix the feed and tell the boys which horse to take it to. Plenty room for error e.g. the mixing, the audio communication, the actual horse given the feed. Seldom would the trainer see where the boys went. One would think Te Akau had a better system.

I didn't think TAB NZ was allowed to conduct online casino betting? That would take a legislative change wouldn't it?
Ladbrokes do it. So makes sense for them to steer the "customer list" that way. If the government bans advertising of unlicensed casino's I fail to see how Ladbrokes are going to comply.

Unfortunately NZ inc would be broke in a short time if the model for NZ Racing was applied across all business. I think thats 2/3 of the issue facing NZ Racing, most participants have no idea to what extent its being paid for by NZ Taxpayer. NZ Taxpayer has no idea either, NZ Racing is a welfare participant just doesn't get its funding from WINZ.
If you call participants taxpayers then yes they are sponsoring racing. But really where the idea comes that the taxpayer is paying for racing beats me. Its way too much the other way around.

Of course there is another choice - and it is probably the most apt one. Close down racing in NZ. Continue running a betting operator. Send the proceeds to the government as part of its revenue stream.
You put that out to the NZ public in a referendum with all the detail of how the industry is subsidised effectively by the taxpayer, I think the vote would be massively in its favour.
Racing pays far more in tax than the benefits it receives. Can't see where you are coming from.

Hard to comment on this really until fuller details are released following ministerial approval.
That said, I find it hard to believe that will happen as early as next week as some apparently have suggested. He surely will need to consult with participants, at least with the codes and recognised industry bodies in the first instance as well as seek advice from the DIA and possibly Treasury at a minimum within government? Seems to me that's more likely to take months than days.
And what about Skycity? As Ladbrokes are heavily into online casino betting Skycity will have a competitor and Ladbrokes will expect the government to protect them.

You will notice the mention of broadcast offering
Just a mention. What's the detail??

Maxi you make some good points. Trackside?? On Couse betting??? How are clubs going to interact whereby they put on races attracting betting and how are they going to be rewarded.
Its clear they have done little research which explains the attempt to muzzle any discussion. Its all fairytale stuff.

If the new operator has a total monopoly in NZ, will they be applying the restrictions that all the overseas bookies enforce when a punter starts winning too much.
He makes the good point that if geoblocking is instituted then some punters will have nowhere to go if they're resticted by the new operator.
What is a total monopoly?
There is Trackside TV, on courses operations, agencies to consider. I can't see NZ giving away Trackside to overseas. With new technology (well over the last 20 years) any club can quickly set up and run their own betting. They can't setup and run all betting i.e. all other codes, sports etc.
There has to be a breakup so if an overseas agency comes in they do only online gambling. Everything else stays with NZ.

Given all the clues Matamata trained, Wanganui winner, approx. date range and distinctive photo probably Shane Dye riding why is this so hard. Got me stumped. The guy with hat probably dressed for September meeting.

Far better to spread out the feature races and also not downplay them timed for race 9 or 10 when everyone wants to go home. Just having one iconic race is enough for marketing. There is still enough jockeys to go around. Can't see a problem with the programming of those two meetings last Saturday.

True
I think the photo is of him winning at Wanganui
The Trust Bank sign is the giveaway. The Trust Bank Stakes started in 1989 so getting the winner of 1989 Trust Bank Stakes maybe 1st guess.

Best route to the Derby would seem via Wexford Stables. Certainly wouldn't lose anything in advice. I would say from quite a few months back Waitak would have been prepared to peak on the one day. Whereas others would have been peaking whilst seeking to be worthy of a start.

Anyone with news or photos of Avondale in relation to floods? Apparently there was a lot of clean up required after "the flood".
Come to think of it news on Ellerslie would be welcome.
-
Avondale Jockey Club have a new guy at the helm. Manney Boyack. I was impressed with the guy seems he is willing to listen and sounds progressive.
Any Avondale members or supporters here? Could be a chance to turn racing around at Avondale. Next meeting April 1 which is a real showcase day for racing. Sires Produce day at Awapuni and numerous Group 1's in Sydney e.g. Doncaster, Derby etc.
Any ideas?

Dynastic, The Intimidator, Waitak, Cruz Missile and Polygon all in the Waikato Guineas on Wednesday and taking the more traditional route to the Derby and/or Oaks
You trying to upset George? Denby Road 2000m on soft track will be interesting.

Interesting comments 32:20 - 33:15 Seems M Guerin is now in charge of RIU making statements on their behalf. Downplaying the injection, time period and blaming the vet. Saying no scandal. All highly positive for Todd Mitchell.
There is a reason for longstanding protocol of not making statements whilst an inquiry in progress. Particularly one sided ones. He may be 100% correct but thats not the point.

No need any sort of pill thanks...but thanks for the advice anyway...Just think TA gets attacked for nothing other than jealousy...JMO.
And some think the sales would not miss them ..total BS how many others buy 20 plus to stay in NZ.....thats easy to answer nobody. And take out a big buyer of numbers the sale will 100% feel the affects...not that some in here would know a clue about that...again just my 2c worth.
RJB I could also say that anyone who accuses someone else of jealously with no direct evidence is stupid. Doubt also that would add value to the discussion.

Going down the hill to the beach at 45 degrees was one of the scariest things I ever did ! Loved it though. Probably around 1973/74
Now I think I've got you "I Dyd" Did your father work for Ivan Watkins Dow Chemicals? If so I'll pm or email you.

You contradict yourself. If there is tax relief that means racing is already paying far too much tax. What do you think the "Fair Tax" campaign was all about. Also given all legislative changes letting Lotto & casinos operate then racing has been negatively served.
Total nonsense saying racing is being propped up.
