What a star he was . Winning the Meadowlands Pace live on nz free to air TV when it was the world's first Million dollar harness race I think.

And here he is on one of the 2 occasions in his career he did Not win . Fell over the rail in the home straight . Whoops !!niatross-saratoga-640.jpg.05aa7d14dbe7d6703d30bded4589216a.jpg

2 of the greats of All time 'Cardy' and 'Bret' had a few great clashes in America in the 1960's .That was the the early days of television so not the clash that was broadcast to Nz.

Clue 3 /  A little further on we got to see this bloke strut his stuff . (well just for the one race on TV anyway we saw him ) and he was touted as the best ever finishing with a 39 start career for 37 Wins.

    Niatross?

But it has to be critical of past actions and current processes, that is why the meetings are being held in the first place.

Tiptoeing through the tulips won't solve anything.

You and i see it exactly the same way and thus nothing will come out of it bar a suggestions for change which will be ignored. Watching while Rome's burning comes to mind immediately

This will not be an opportunity for blame or criticism of past actions, current processes or HRNZ and attendees will be expected to stay strictly within the bounds of the objectives of the meetings.

This means status quo for HRNZ employees. Based on the above it will achieve nothing because those who hold power are unlikely to be ever held accountable just like the previous clowns who ran the game into the ground up north.

@Brodie you'll be pleased to know that the site that champions free speech has openly said they will never allow you to post there!

The only topic of conversation on that site appears to be, Bag Mr Brodie. Very sad. I think they're just jealous that their site is full of has beens  who couldn't handle energetic, mischievous debate.

Agree Addington.  For some time various posters have alluded to Brodie being Wayne Higgs.  I was always sceptical because if you follow his posts closely it’s clear Brodie does not have the knowledge Mr Higgs would have.   Don’t know what ever made people think it was him

Pretty sure Wayne H thinks its funny hence why i know Brodie is not him and never has been

  7. So he posts continually that he is against TAB for AML and liquidity reason's. Also, that he wont bet with them yet he now posts he does bet and on Amateurs drivers race at some obscure southern track.

Strange bloke id say who is very confused and clearly tells the odd porkie.

  8. I'm not usually prone to taking the piss out of contributors but have a read of this from some idiot called Brodie on another site

    "

What a shocking track to bet on is that Roxburgh.

    Only fit for trials!

How on earth can an unplaced maiden in 12 starts that went average 2 days ago beat race winners?

It couldn’t even win a maiden trial .

It is great for a holiday venue but as for worth betting on it is a shocker!

Yes I had an investment in that race which did miss due to a poor drive but we should all know by now that amateur racing should not be tote betting!

Never again will I have a go on that saucer track."

I might add Brodie had previously posted

    "

How on earth would the Bookies open a 12 start all unplaced maiden as favourite in the amateur race at Roxburgh on Wednesday, opened at $3!

Went only fair in a maiden race at Omakau on Monday after having an economical run.

Now trained by Cheree Wigg,, Previously by Andrew Stewart, and has not shown that much ability so far!!

Has drawn 1 against race winners including an out of form 7 race winner Change Around!

Guess which horse Won the race?

Does anyone know who this clown is?

Just watched Mick Guerin talking about this on the Box Seat. He has been talking a bit of sense recently but he is way off beam with his support of the running of the Franklin Cup.

His argument you have to run the race to instill confidence for the future is valid but said in a vacuum of information. How can you say it should run but never mention the fact of the 10% harness funding hole. You just can't take him seriously when this is not mentioned.

Confidence? goodness, run a race so you won't lose tightly assessed horses overseas, well, the industry will be losing plenty of horses because of the 10% reduction.

Does make one wonder why all the reported fuss by heads of HRNZ & board to get those disqualified back in.

The fuss becomes why dq someone for 8 and then let them partially  back in as the HRNZ mob tried to recently. Makes  a mockery of initial RIB decision by those that sought to interfere with that decision.

  11. On the fantasy channel they are stooping as low as announcing a rumored  Trainers relationship break up. How low can you go, both the instigator and the site owner for allowing it.

The funny thing is social media sites have been highlighting the ineptitude and hypocrisy for years but have been brushed off as 'extremists' but now a recognised outlet in  (harnesslink) have lifted the lid on it, everyone within the industry is piling on.

I don't think it will make much difference as the inner sanctum have such control over matters they make teflon look sticky.

A fair summation of the current situation and outlook

If a punter decides to back Rakero Rebel tomorrow at Timaru against Obsession and Anna Love etc at 3FF good luck to you.

Stop and contemplate on the reasons why it was a massive effort at Ashburton.

Don't ask anyone in charge of harness racing as they are so thick they couldn't work it out.
