Imagine if FIne By Me trained by Cam Jones was still in the race!

The rorts would be falling over themselves.

That then becomes the door handle theory- everyone has a turn!

As you said Happy no wonder harness betting is diminishing

Simply because you are on the wrong side of the fence to the cabal of a few of those involved in the RIB, HRNZ leadership, media and training ranks who look after themselves.

As the old saying goes " its only a rort if your not involved"

  3. Will get  a soft run behind probable leader Twice Shy and does have John's Juniors driver there to assist if he can, will he be looking behind like he usually does? .

If they can turn around its form they are a lot better than  many give them credit for, me included. 🤔

Obviously no site without him  though he comes across as argumentative in many instances which  must deter some from joining and contributing.

What happened too that Japanese Stallion wet tracker use to promote, that he claimed never owned when he did?. That be the good one!  These days he is King of tiny Homes. What makes me laugh went all way to Wellington for protest and was standing round with Green Party MP'S, who claimed never be seen dead with.

Was it by Sunday Silence.? cant remember its name despite all his bullshit promos on social media sites. He should stick to his knitting, Rangiora property .

Just watched race, bad draw unfortunately, had no chance. Paced a bit roughly in straight but maybe as was so close to the people, he was smiling at them as he went by. Def 1 to keep an eye on for next time has a good draw 👍

Not the greatest of drives really. You have to put your horse in the race at the Mot as few make top 3 from the back  these days. That's the problem with drivers who only drive occasionally even though Terry is not the worst.

Wonder what Smith and Dunn were laughing about after the post in Gronkowski's win?. Dunn  was showing some real urgency to get his drive home,

  6. Great days racing and well done to BGP. Good to see a bit of emotion in the crowd as horses entered straight. Its that sort of day that gets racing front and center  media attention.

  7. I thought the day was a big success and the racing top class. Had younger friends who bought into syndicates that had runners in big races. They all flew up and spent heaps had a great time and now have others wanting to join in next purchase. The surprising thing is you would never see any of them going to Riccarton or Addington on a regular basis if at all.. Yet they are new blood and the future as they replace ageing owners and have required disposable income.

Say what you like about Te Akau and D Ellis  but  like Pitmans in South  without them TB racing would be  worse off by a long way.

  8. Weather not that good but Terry McMillian has a useful Sweet Lou lining up in Race 2 called Lone Wolf 5 and 2s gets me followed by Gavin Smiths maiden in   R 3 Gronkowski. Went out 3/4 in first start and got badly held up. Would like to see more money come from for it but I've taken the 6.50 and 2.2 already

Good Luck to you all today on the grass.

    Yet like Colin Wrigtman,

There is a name from the past, was a complete wanker at Lincoln and never improved with age IMO.

He appears to have no racing interests these days but that might be due to no trainers wanting his patronage😘

I always thought he was a hugely negative big mouth.

Yes that is exactly what Bob is. Agree that he has some historical knowledge but he wants to live in the past. Like many he cant accept that with Pokies, Casinos etc racing was always going to be challenged for the leisure dollar. For a more recent example ask anyone how Singapore is going post casino opening there.

Think Rugby ,Racing and Beer- all in massive decline. For all of that group its a case of adapt or decline.. Harness looks to be following the latter IMO

We all angels in the North. She not needed here hehe. Your Southern peeps are the ones needing sorting out. See Happy already given us the tip. “Happens reasonably often”

How you doing Addy? Any Harness news in your neck of the woods? I spy a bunch of Cullen/Purdon runners nom-ed for Alex including Akuta & Self Assured, so thats cool to have them up. (Actually don’t think they (Southern folk) try it on up in the North, do they, re stand starts … would that be right ? - don't think Iv seen it up here running starts or delaying starts)?

Happy how is that bedside reading going? Still awaiting your thoughts …

Southland starts have always been a shocker. It goes back to when DD worked out that you could have a run at standing starts and get away with it . BO quickly cottoned onto it and that's one of the reasons why they won/win so many races down that way. A few of the locals have joined the band now leaving only the part timers to miss the boat so to speak.

As for All Stars well its that time of the year , take the Jaffa money on offer and get rid of a few  to  other stables or sell them to Oz. It happens every year so why should this one be any different.

  12. I found it quite amusing as well given the starter down that way lets horses/drivers have running starts and the RIB staff have no issue with that.

MP probably had a plane to catch hence the no show and guilty plea

A great precedent has been set by Ms Haley. Lets see who gets pinged next if at all

It is probably just a fast track. Nelson is pretty warm and they scoot along there.

When you look at times in the USA, average nags run 1.53 etc.

Only time will tell how far TB and CS go, i do like the other one though and thought 1.40 was very generous.

  14. 58 minutes ago, Happy Sunrise said:

    Why do you think that?

Akuta who is on ratings a far superior animal runs 1.518. Compare that with Tegan Banner an aged horse who on its 14th start won in 1.524 or Celtic Spirit wining in 1.531. Either the distance may be wrong, the track is fastest in NZ or they are horses who will win them on their ear from here on in if they run those times elsewhere despite higher ratings.

  15. Yesterday's Nelson meeting was not at all popular with Ozzie punters One Ellerslie race was close to doing more on the win pool at Tabcorp than the whole Richmond win pool card.

i enjoyed the mile racing and hope they continue with it in the future although it might be a good idea to calibrate the distance. Some of the times for lower grade horses looked suspect

Seems to be a case of placing them to their best advantage and no local meetings. The cleanout will occur shortly so making hay while sun shines perhaps. At least they will all be trying.

Bollinger, no top liner but a big chance after not enjoying grass track at last start.

American Pride heading towards Invercargill Cup which will have a nice stake attached
