RJB I could also say that anyone who accuses someone else of jealously with no direct evidence is stupid. Doubt also that would add value to the discussion.

You are free to your opinion as I am to mine...life goes on.

you're being very defensive, RJB... take a chill pill.

    TA

No need any sort of pill thanks...but thanks for the advice anyway...Just think TA gets attacked for nothing other than jealousy...JMO.

And some think the sales would not miss them ..total BS how many others buy 20 plus to stay in NZ.....thats easy to answer nobody. And take out a big buyer of numbers the sale will 100% feel the affects...not that some in here would know a clue about that...again just my 2c worth.

  3. And they clearly have the best track record of anyone buying at Karaka...if they stop buying there will be some sad and sorry vendors at the sales...just think of how many people they employ and how big their operation costs to run...I dunno why people have to knock them...they put the money and mostly all of it stays in NZ.. they mind their own business do their own thing and get plenty of people involved in racing....has to be good for the industry....doesn't it???

  4. Maybe you should listen to people who have done the stats already...he is not the only one who spends up big but he has the best record of them all...I do not have any association with TA just feel credit should be given where it is due.

David Ellis — performed as the top purchaser of yearlings globally on our buyer dataset between 2015–2021.

  5. Now you are talking nonsense...anyone can compete in the KM races...maybe some others should get some better clients or better judges to buy their horses how can you decry a person being successful if they are prepared to go the extra mile to achieve that the TA team spend months looking at the horses and leave no stone unturned to make sure they buy the right ones and then the whole team then has to go out and sell probably 100 plus shares, you think that is easy...come on get real.......you seem very narrow minded...JMO.

  6. Not sure but its no mean feat to be the leading buyer in the Southern hemisphere...love them or hate them he does know how to find a good one.I am believer of no matter what they are by or out of if they aint athletes first and foremost they won't run...pedigrees are made not bought...the page only tells you how much the particular athlete will cost...my opinion but I learnt from one of the best judges ever.

  7. For all you knockers out there here is facts from after the Magic Millions...

Here we aim to highlight the Top 5 buyers that we observed in our 2015–2021 yearling dataset.

David Ellis (Te Akau) — 17.02% stakes winners to purchases

On raw numbers, founder and principal of Te Akau racing in New Zealand — David Ellis — performed as the top purchaser of yearlings globally on our buyer dataset between 2015–2021. We identified 188 yearling purchases, an average spend of $212,872 AUD and with a stakes return of 32 winners (17.02%)
  8. Haha I dont even remember making the post but I will always stick up for jockeys and trainers If I feel they are being gone after unfairly....you need to let things go and chill...lifes to short to stay angry over such small issue sorry if it offended ....good luck with the comps here...enjoy 2023 I know I will.

Interestingly Hesi you seem to have forgotten the original intention of this site.

RJB does it have to be one or the other? many here post on both or even all 3 similar sites.

Never said it had to be...I know you post on RC as well..no issue...its everyones own choice to post where they want but from after this discussion is finished I have chosen not to post here because of Hesi ...that is my choice.

That was most definitely not the message I got.

I went along with it though in the spirit the 2 sites could work together, which has not been the case.  Attempts to establish an inter site Super Comp have all been rejected

so what, its not needed. RC has its own base and members and minds its own business doing what it does..yes many are on both who cares the more opinions there are at the moment the better...RC does not need to do any sort of inter site comp why should they??? RC has good comps so does RP why not just leave it at that. RC does not need or wish to work with RP, but that does not mean the sites can not coexist peacefully...which you seem to just try to stir up all the time...there will be no inter site comp...but no reason why there should be any animosity between the two sites...unless that is what you want???

  11. Hesi I came here and joined as Pete asked me to  but you just can not stop with the constant sniping and trying to bait RC. I wanted to just post here on relevant topics and never once have I run down or rubbished the site on RC however you just cant let go. I won't be posting here again, thanks Pete for trying  but unfortunately it has not worked...I will happily go back to RC and you have lost another poster...so thats two less than yesterday the way I see it.

  12. No and the more you push the less it will ever be likely to...why would they even need to do that...and after what you and Doug tried to do RC...how could you ever think it could work....why not just be happy with what you have and find your own way forward to grow.

  13. I dont have all the answers but a few things spring to mind.

I think we have to many race meetings in a week...sometimes 3 on a Saturday...hard to get jockeys at two let alone 3...cut the meetings per week down as like the old days and that in itself would increase stakes a little.

2 Fix the programming its a diabolical mess at the moment..especially the SI, geez what's the point of having a 2yo down there you get maybe 3 or 4 chances to run in a season its a joke and the whole calendar needs looking at and be programmed by someone with knowledge of actually how often horses can run.

3 Cut NZTR costs, they are through the roof and keep getting worse, its a joke and nobody seems to try to fix this...way out spending its means.

4 Have a student type academy set up so Jockeys, strappers and trainers can be trained from the start, get the kids interested in High school so we have a pool of talent to get people from.

5 have a tax on selling horses offshore...so we dont simply lose our best before they even race, this has been a drain on our industry for the past 25 years or more.

6 Put people who know and understand racing in charge of it in all areas not wankers with a suit and a CV from some big wig company...thats who is stuffing us now...Sharrock aside.

  14. But as more and more leave then less is left here...look at the RTR sales...50 of the best two year olds gone to HK or OZ, and how many NZ Trainers were active..2 or 3 maybe ...its a no win situation...it cant be both ways as there is nothing to keep them here no argument for them to stay...zero.Sorry but that is just a fact.I know if I get one good enough to go or be bought..it will be gone..no upside to keep it here.

Unbelievable. You see a champion filly win and they have to cross to Addington for a dog race.

    Unprintable words...

Agree Pete they have no concept of how to deliver the product they are showing every dog cat goat race all considered the same...a chance to get some sucker to bet on them so lets jam them all on the one channel whenever we can...makes no sense but nothing they do seems to anyway.

  16. 100% will get downgraded and very soon...agree with Freda re the other race we dont have enough for one decent field for a staying race let alone two...hard to believe a rating 58 horse is in the NZ Cup oh how far this once great race has fallen...

Talked to my son in law ( ex trainer for Heptinstall syndicate) last night Mardi. He thinks Deauville Legend will win the Cup as he regards him as a class act. Not bad at 6 bucks really.

Wet would be a worry for me all his form on good tracks...it looks like it will be wet for sure.
