Yes agree. He is really asking people to get in behind geo blocking to basically save the racing industry, calling it the most significant event, therefore he has an obligation to provide a lot more data
An obligation to but won't,just like everything they do its made up. I do not know one single person who bets with online casinos...that figure as well as the 150 mill are just pie in the sky to make people think the world is about to end...just imagine how much the running costs of the TAB will go up if there was that type of money. I agree need to see hard evidence of the numbers and guarantees that costs won't spiral if , and its a huge if the money they are talking about actually exists...its all waffle from the king of waffle Guerin.

Confirm, Barry can get a bit ropey at times especially if I mention a certain name, but he does not get emotionally attached to the horses he backs
No I was meaning of course he would think Opie did the right thing as he got it home...no matter the consequences...
-
No just stating you dont know about riding if you think what Opie did was OK...because he won...sorry I dont agree with that thinking...he needed to straighten his horse up long before the winning post and he never did...thats my point of view and I am sticking to it.Not really bothered what you think as I also think you are talking shit in some of what you say but I refrain from being so crass.

What absolute crap.
I am amazed that anyone who knows racing or the rules would think it let alone say it!He is emotionally involved as he backed Opies horse.

Classic, fact from what I have been told. 😆
Often known as gossip or hearsay, now taken as fact.
NO this is from people using it daily...just to put your mind at ease.

All 3 track surfaces should be the same, if not, then NZTR should be asking questions. I presume the sand/polymer/rubber/wax mix has been imported from Aus.
This is patented technology, they can't just go changing any of the above. The process by which they coat with wax will also be part of the patent
I am only telling you what is a fact from what I have been told...so make of it what you will.
-
You only need to look at Awapuni to know it is different the sand is a different color.... much darker. Not sure if that makes a difference but trainers are having to put oil on the horses so the materials dont stick to them when they work on it.

Went way to fast...needs to learn about the pace of races here...sure he will sort it out.

Seems not.

Chris Wood seems to think there is nothing wrong with the Cambridge one
Dont know anything about Cambridge I only mentioned Awapuni as that is the only one I have info on.

I have also been told the track at Awapuni is hard and trainers not keen to let them go at full pace as they feel it and jar up.

I think 10 years was to harsh and over the top...poor guy made a silly mistake but they persecuted him for it...because they could.

The 10 years may be out there but ... he punted on another horse and pulled his up .... hits the very perceived issue of cheating and had to be dealt with very severley.
Personally think the 10 years is relevant ... but the keystone cop efforts of chasing him and hiding in hedges to get photos of him riding trackwork was ridiculous and bizarre. At that point they lost my support . .. ex cops vendetta
Thats what I was meaning actually the witch-hunt to catch him out.

Out of interest, has there ever been a situation where jockeys refuse to ride with another jockey who does not follow this unwritten code
No but I can tell you there were a few sorted out by the others one way or another.

He was thrown to the wolves...ridiculous penalty...and a decent guy who made a mistake.

I rode in over 1000 races...here and in Oz...looking after your fellow riders is an unwritten code ...he never once looked out for them.

5 horses my arse, look at the 2 pics I provided, 1-2 at most, normal riding every day in Aus.
yes in the last 20 meters you are right...look where he originally started from all he had to do was change hands with the whip at the 100m mark and maybe none of the carnage would have happened...it was not only the last few meters that the horse layed in it was for more than 100m...

Emotion, not fact, look at the 2 pics I provided, shows facts, moved in bugger all, normal riding in Metro Aus every day.
Come on mate moved in bugger all give me a break...we must be looking at different videos. He had only one thing in mind winning nothing else and that is very wrong. There was no consideration given to his fellow riders...but anyway no point banging my head against the wall...cheers.

Bullshit, all emotion & zero fact.
They have very clear rules & guidelines which are followed here in the case of Opie.
So two months for reckless riding causing a death seems fair to you...no emotion just fact.

I totally agree with Guerin, he was entitled to continue to ride the horse vigorously to the line, only very late did the horse look like it was going to cause trouble & he attempted to correct it, the horse over reacted & continued laying in.
The penalty was sufficient for the ride, had he corrected it earlier, the horse wouldn't have won & he would have been fined for not riding it out. The last f--king thing as an owner I want to see is Opie correcting that horse at the 50 mark & it not winning a $100k race because of it. He had every reason to think the horse was going to continue on its path & run clear of the others.
So because you had money on it he was entitled to cause 4 horses to fall...give me a break...He as the pilot is responsible for the flight path...this time his compass went hay wire....talk about no emotion LOL...your pocket is talking Haha.
