Good to see people like Daniel Nahkle in conjunction with the successful Barneswood Farm, and also the Clotworthys getting a syndicate together involved.Having the likes of John Chew and Ozzir Kheir can only be a positive.Everybody just seems so.positive and buoyant about the industry at the moment.
The reality is that Legarto would have had to run the first 600m faster than it has before to be closer to DL..Peter and Dawn Williams are very astute and have always claimed DL is an outstanding horse and will be a good 4yo.Whenever this horse has run Peter has said he cant believe how much people under rate him.Everything he previously done was on potential but now he is at the top of his ability.
I know that the connections of Desert Lightening were very confident and believed they had the best horse in the race.Hence the early money that seen it into $8 a couple weeks ago.The only worry they had was the draw.Vinny also rode it like the best horse in the race. You would expect that running its first 800 at that speed it would struggle last 300 but kept going. He knew the motor this very underrated horse has.it amazes me that in its last 2 weeks the talk has been about the beaten horses not the winner and yet he has proved himself to probably be currently the best miler racing
