  1. I suspect will be too scared to play the Joker. Save for easier opposition.☺️
  2. Lots of comps to enter, so I better get on with it, starting with this #1 supremo comp. I'll probably be all vigour and dash with this comp, and will fade later in other comps as my brain begins to fade and I start just plodding. 😂 R1) 6x9 Secret Squirrel/Torre del Greco R2) 3x6 Richard of Yorke/Hi I'm Nikkita R3) 4x5 Lucyinrio/Hanger R4) 6x9 Suliman/Amazing Az Best Bet NZ R5) 4x10 Dez/Herengawe R6) 4x5 Super Seth /Dalasan Best Bet Aus R7) 2x9 Spanish Whisper/Fidelia R8) 8x11 Gem Song/Trope R9) 7x10 Kings Will Dream/Night's Watch R10) 5x11 Streets of Avalon/Demerara A match we 'TooFast's definitely need to win today to keep our playoff hopes alive. Good luck my "teamies" Robert, StevieP, Jack and Geoff. Another whirlwind late finish from Jack like last week will do us just fine. No pressure, Jack ! 😁. Our opposition 'La Bog' I think it is, a fairish to middling sort of outfit, hope they don't get bogged down in the Awapuni slops so that they cn keep us in sight and make this a competitive match. Good luck to all you 'La Bog's, particularly to my opponent Paul. All scratchings today for us 'TooFast's will revert to the TAB sub, etc. Thanks very much, PJ.
  3. Relief best sums up the mood in the 'Too Fast' camp as the elusive first Spring Comp victory has finally come our way. 'The Rustlers' were hanging tough and a bit of anxiety was beginning to show on the faces of the 'Too Fast's - albeit 'Just Plodded' was plodding a lot faster than in a couple of earlier matches and proving that his 7 comp winners the previous Saturday was the start of something good. Then along came Jack ! …. doing nothing and going nowhere for the greater part of the day ….. suddenly rising like a phoenix from the ashes with 3 on the bounce in Comp races 8,9,10. Impressive ! Hard luck, 'The Rustlers' …. your performances belie your current standing on the leaderboard, and I'm sure you'll start stringing them together sooner rather than later. Some of the more vaunted outfits had a hard day at the office yesterday, giving some hope to those (including us 'Too Fast's) in the second half of the leaderboard. (can't bring myself to say 'bottom half' of the leaderboard ! 😄). There's still a sizable gap between the two halves, and for us 'Too Fast's there remains much work to do to remain competitive and make those all-important play-offs. There is a rumour underway, released by me right here, that some of the high-flyers are beginning to show signs of having trained off only 4 weeks into the comp. The 'style over substance' brigade …. 'went fast, stopped quick' …. so there remains much hope for those of us in the back end. Are you still with me, Rees ? Good effort from your mob yesterday, Rees, taking down the reigning comp leaders at the time. We 'Too Fast's have your mob in our sights this coming Saturday, and it should be a very good and close match. Good luck with it Rees ….. we'z a comin' for ya ! Honestly, those 'Red Hots' are absolutely skinning this comp as I declared right at the start of proceedings. I locked them in at $1.10 at the time and considered myself lucky to have done so. 5-0 runaway victory over the talented Animal Kingdom yesterday, and never out of second gear. There are many who say this comp is theirs to lose, and I am one of them. We 'Too Fast's are gonna have to find several lengths when it's our turn up on the 'Red Hots' chopping block. Gulp. Thanks for another excellent day's entertainment yesterday PJ, another great PJ Super Comp day. Enjoy this coming week, my friends.
  4. Vacancy ! Due to unforeseen circumstances the Deputy Chief Executive position has suddenly become available at Too Fast International. The present incumbent a Mr J Plodded appears to have summarily dis-established himself from that prestigious role. 😄
  5. The smaller size fields in this round of the comp should make it easier to find winners, and hopefully 4th up in this campaign I'll finally be up on the victor's rostrum. Hasn't been the` greatest of starts for the 'FarTooFast', have looked likely at various stages but when the pace has gone on we've basically just plodded. This Saturday though starts the turnaround and there will be a few shocks in store for the more higher rated outfits in the coming weeks. I've alighted on these for this week :- R1) 4-6 R2) 1-2 R3) 2-4 Best Bet NZ R4) 5-7 R5) 2-4 R6) 2-5 Best Bet Aus R7) 1-3 R8) 1-12 R9) 1-6 R10) 6-15 Good luck to my "teamies" Stevie P, Robert, Jack and Geoff. Let's bring this one home fellas. Good luck also to my opponent tomorrow, Gary. I hope you find a few, Gary. Thanks, PJ.
  6. Special mention of our 'FarTooFast' star player Robert (Double R) …. has been enjoying a highly successful start to this Spring Comp campaign …. carrying on a fine PJ Comp tradition of players picked late in the 'Draft' who quickly go on to enjoy considerable success. Well done, Sir ! 👍
  7. One of the downsides to getting a bit older is that the memory can flicker in and out ….sometimes it vanishes for a day even. I know I woke up yesterday and the sun was shining and I was all set for a big day ahead... plans all set in place. And yet here I am waking Sunday morning and I absolutely can't remember a thing about yesterday ...something must have happened (hopefully good) ….but my mind is a complete fog about yesterday's events. Things must have happened fartoofast for me, and I ended up with a brain 'overload'. 😄 Seriously though, well done to The Wild Bunch yesterday …. we came a marchin' in all loaded up with the Joker …. and they repelled the attack with interest. Some of their number come in for a bit of light-hearted "ribbing" about some of their, on the face of it, "hairy" selections in the $30+ range, but hey it can be effective and yesterday was a perfect example, especially when more than one of them find the same "roughie". So all credit to 'The Wild Bunch'. Keep on doing what you do well, and especially congrats to my Mighty Blues buddy Gordy ...too strong for me in the run home and a worthy winner of our personal match-up. It's the first day of Spring, it's Father's Day …. plenty of reason for optimism and we 'Toofasts' look forward to rising again and shaking up some of those high=flying teams who think they may have our number. Wishing a Happy Fathers Day to all us fathers and grandfathers - and a very happy and successful Spring. Thanks again PJ for this latest version of your wonderful comps …. always very much appreciated. We 'Fartoofast's will be joining in very soon. 😊
  8. Scratching Replacement for Robert (Double R) for 'Fartoofast) :- Comp R10 19 - Rox The Castle is scratched, replaced by 4 - Qafila. Thanks, PJ.
  9. Scratching Replacement for Geoff (Just Plodded) for 'Fartoofast' Comp R6 1 - Dubious is scratched replaced by 4 - Super Seth Thanks, PJ.
  10. JOKER PLAY today for the Far Too Fasts, thanks PJ ! They're sending some Wild Bunch after us, but we're all Joker-ed up and ready to rock this comp ! My advice is , step out of the way folks … or you'll be needing to be treated for windburn ! 😂 We've already got 2 fellas (Robert and Stevie P) in the 'Magnificent Seven' … after today that number will have increased to 4. How hard can it be ? Still with me, Rees ? …. Today I'm got my Spring weather thinking cap on, and have alighted upon these good sorts :- R1) 4-6 Best Bet NZ R2) 4-10 R3) 6-12 R4) 3-7 (that's right, I'm the only one on the planet not on 'Cutadeel'. I will always walk in the direction my heart tells me to go, even if I must walk alone. 😊) R5) 3-10 R6) 2-3 R7) 1-3 R8) 11-13 R9) 6-11 Best Bet Aus R10) 1-14 The very best of luck today to my "teamies" Jack, Stevie P, Robert and Geoff. Let's bring this one home fellas, shake this comp to its core. Whenever you play a 'Mighty Blue' you've got the job ahead of you, and up against my 'Blues Brother Gordy' today I'm facing the toughest of challenges.. A really good guy, so I hope Gordy scores well today, keeps the wild bunch in the fight for a while. Good luck to you Gordy. The wild bunch will go ok …. but come the end of the day we'll have been simply fartoofast. Of course. 😊 Thanks, PJ. Enjoy an excellent day's racing ahead, everyone.
  11. Well thank goodness for that ! …. Hastings and Caulfield ….. I think that the more astute amongst you will have noted that us 'FarTooFast's are unbeaten at Hastings this Spring campagn. The portents are good for us 'TooFasts' as we set out in hot pursuit of the 'Feisty 4' who have opened up a gap on the trailing '4'. As I endeavour to break my personal 'duck-egg' this campaign it is a sobering realisation that I'm up against yesterday's All-Teams' Top Scorer, my ole Blues Brother Gordy. Bit like graduating to Open Company and first trip out finding yourself up against Te Akau Shark. 😮 Hopefully Gordy will rein it in a bit this coming Saturday so I can keep him in sight. Moment of Truth for the 'Red Hots' this week …. up against the runaway leaders the 'Dynamite'. 'Dynamite' have sprung the gates with wings on every hoof …. clear 3rd favourites at this early stage of proceedings to win this Spring Comp … but closing in rapidly on the 'Five-Os' and next step up, the 'Red Hots' This coming Saturday we'll find out if the 'Red Hots' really are the real deal. No pressure. ☺️ Have a great week everyone. I'm off to study up. No fields yet, but I'll study up anyway. Preparation is everything. No need to hit the panic button and resort to Geoff's dart board. Not yet.
  12. Thank you very much today, John, for another superb effort scoring and updating for us. Much appreciated.👍 Another top effort from our 'FarTooFast' expert StevieP ...however the day and congratulations belong to John and his 'Five-O's.... proving too strong for us 'TooFasts' in the run to the line . Certainly franking their status as ruling 2nd favourites to take out this Spring Comp, behind the 'red hots' 'Under The Radar' carrying on their winning way today. A lot of quality in this Spring Comp. Well done to my opponent Hesi …. much too strong for me today aided in particular by an astute BB on 'Lacustre.' Well spotted, my friend. 'FarTooFast' off to a very quiet start to this comp, yet to hit our 'groove' as a team, but this is a long competition and there's plenty of time for us to make our mark on proceedings. When the winning post beckons come November, we'll be there ! Absolutely. I'm still with me, Rees. 😃.
  13. No scratching replacement from me for Robert (Far Too Fast) 's No.3 in Comp R1. He can slide on to the appropriate sub. Thanks, John.
  14. Hello, John. Scratching Replacement for me, please :- Comp R8 - (Randwick R6) 1 - Dreamforce is scratched. Replace now by 7 - Deprive I won't replace Geoff and Robert's selections of Dreamforce, if they don't post they can go on to the sub. Many thanks, John. Good luck today.
  15. That sounds like a plan, John. If he's paying better than 3s I'll be on.
  16. You know the drill, Rees …… never let the facts get in the way of a good story ! I'm heaping the pressure on the 'Red Hots' …. inch by inch ….. week by week. 😊. It's all part-and=parcel of being a strategic heavy-weight. Their Captain's already swanning off to sunny Fiji to lounge about on the deck chairs downing the ales, instead of doing the hard yards at Ellerslie like the rest of us. You see, this is where the complacency sets in. Reading their own press, and thinking this thing is already won ! 😁. Maybe PJ and Sharne can steady the ship …. maybe not. Good luck today, Rees. On last week's effort your team's gotta think they're in with a show today.
  17. The champ in Round 1 and 'magnificent Seven' leader Robert (FarTooFast, of course 😁) has bounced from the starting-gates with his selections already posted, giving a valuable steer to what's winning for those unfortunates in other miscellaneous assorted franchises already struggling. Gonna need all our 'FarTooFast' wits about us on Saturday as we face very even fields and a very strong opponent the 'Five-O's who were sensational last Saturday and have rushed up the favourites board to sit firmly now on the second line of favouritism to win this Spring comp, 2nd favourites behind the 'red--hots' the 'Under The Radar' who put away their opponents last Saturday as expected. I'm going with these equine hotshots for my selections for Saturday :- R1) 1 - Back In a Flash Unbeaten on the course and at the distance, usually performs on the heavy stuff. Gotta be in. 6 - Justacanta Runner-up the last two, and ready to put the foot in the till. R2) 5 - Magdala Has been going super races. Must go close, surely. 7 - Bae Corp Now that she's found the winning post could well go back-to-back. Definitely appeals, and 4kg claim will help. R3) 2 - Rosewood Always a star of the winter racing. Will get back but should finish over the top of them. Claim helps. 5 - Te Toro Pearl I've got a soft spot for this one. Won them in a row early on, and could well return to winning form here. R4) 1 - Ruffy Rahtwo Has been going well enough without winning. 4kg claim helps but the draw doesn't. Saturday could be the day ! 5 - Beckidboo I like the Ekraars and the jockey Alvin Goindasamy is riding very well with the 3kg weight relief. Looks close to a win. R5) 2 - Lucicello BEST BET RACE Have been impressed with all she's done to date. I just have to be on. Tommy Berry to do the business. 3 - True Detective Has come up mighty short in a reasonably strong lineup. Must be liked, but no good thing. R6) 2 - Max BEST BET RACE The 'Yamanin Vital' background will stand this well-performed fella in god stead. I'm a believer. 3 - Gagarin Has been going super well this winter, again. Come the last round they'll know he's there. R7) 1 - Tenley Beat Exhilarates last campaign, and Exhilarates won last Saturday. I'm no genius, but I've managed to join the dots. 3 - Libertini Very impressive filly at microscopic odds. I'm not proud, I'll take them. R8) 1 - Dreamforce Plenty of weight and a wide draw, but is the best horse in the race and I'm saying that's gotta count for something. 4 -Con Te Partiro Goin' a bit wider here with this one. Nice win two back and anything like a repeat performance will see her home. R9) 2 - Happy Clapper Great horse and always the biggest of threats however strong the company. 10- Verry Elegant Extremely talented and now that she's starting to get it together she's gonna be a powerful force whatever race she's in. R10) 4 - Mizzy Should give a great sight from 3 at the barrier for Tommy Berry. In this to win this. 8 - Notation Has been performing very well, and unlucky last time. Will be very hard to beat. The very best of luck to us 'FarTooFast' luminaries on Saturday. Another team profit bonus looks almost certain. Good luck too to the formidable 'Five-O's … we're gonna have to really go some to beat you. Hesi, my opponent, you're a star ! Thank you very much, John, for doing the scoring and updates tomorrow. You of course are an absolute star, too. Geoff and I will be watching with interest from Ellerslie. Enjoy your Saturday racing, everyone. Still with me, Rees ? 😁
  18. Amazing first day of the Spring Comp … plenty of big scores and close matches - this Spring Comp is clearly gonna be a classic for the ages. Heart congratulations to Maxi's 'Animal Kingdom' team on an excellent first-up victory … there's clearly plenty of talent in the 'Animal Kingdom' lineup and on this display they could well be a force come Finals time. I've upgraded them from 'likely midfield' status to 'strong contender' status. Hard luck to my guys - ours was the 'Te Akau Shark' run of the day, booming home up from the back with giant strides late in proceedings to snatch a Team Profit point and be oh so very close to the Higher Aggregate point. Robert and Stevie P played out of their skins to be Gold and Bronze Medallists respectively for the day on PJ's 'Top 7' list - top effort fellas - fully justifying the big bucks we 'TooFasts' paid for their services at sign-up time. 😊. Jack stormed home with a BB victory in the last in an impressive opening hit-out. The good news with Geoff, returning from the 12-month layoff, is that with a bit of heaving and straining the attendants managed to squeeze him into the starting gates ok, but the first 600 metres was like watching a steeplechaser in the Railway Handicap. However the second half of the day the Best Bet King began to get his groove back and found the line nicely. I recall that the last PJ Super Comp that I was in my team didn't score a Team Profit point for the entire competition … so to achieve that in the very first Round of this new Comp is very encouraging. Next week it's a date with the formidable 'Five-O' - $1921 in the kitty today to blow the team profit threshold completely apart, and 4-1 victors. So we're gonna have to be right on our game next Saturday - note to all 'Too-Fast'ers - all leave cancelled, all hands on deck. The 'newbie' 'Virgil' for the 'Five-O's looks pretty handy - gonna have our investigation division check out how we missed out on 'Virgil' in the draft because we don't like missing out on people we should have - anyways we're sending in a trimmed-down Geoff next Saturday to sort out Virgil' and put us 'TooFasts' 1-0 up to give us the head-start that we'll be wanting. Thank you very much for your scoring and updates today PJ, accurate, entertaining, and exemplary as always....much appreciated. 👍 Geoff and I will be at Ellerslie next Saturday ….but keeping a close eye on proceedings in PJ Super Comp land. Thank you very much John and Maxi for offering your services for scoring and updates next Saturday. It's thanks to you guys that these Super Comps carry on seamlessly when PJ has commitments on a Saturday. Much appreciated. 👍
  19. Don't be fooled by the name 'Just Plodded' …. just like Pete's mob this is another desperate attempt to fly 'under the radar', but this time it's on our side. 😁 One false move by 'Just Plodded''s opposition, and it'll be prime moose on toast. 😊. Or that's the way the script reads anyway. With him having been away from the action for 12 months our 'TooFast' s biggest worry is that 'Just Plodded' won't fit in the starting gates. Just saying.
  20. Scratching Replacement for 'Fartoofast' Taniwha99 (Jack) Comp R7 : 8 is out, replaced by a roughie, 12 - Rumble Doll. Thanks PJ ...and good luck, Jack.
  21. ah … spring is in the air ….. and the 'TooFasts' are coming out to play ! 😊 First up on the chopping-block are Maxi's Mob … rated by pundits on the pre-comp blogs as likely to finish about mid-field come the conclusion of the round-robins in a couple of months' time. Mid-field could be an overly-optimistic assessment, but with Graeme the #1 selector in the entire Winter comp on dollars earned and Maxi the victorious Captain in the Winter comp well maybe Maxi's mob won't be a completely lost cause. Not completely. 😁 On the brighter side of things this Spring version of the 'Toofasts' appears to be on paper the strongest 'Toofast'version yet seen. Howie returning from a winter spell and Geoff returning from a summer/autumn and winter spell ...obviously will be better for the hit-out today but let's face it if you're gonna return fearless but fat then the match-up you'd want to open your new campaign would obviously be against Maxi's Mob, wouldn't it ? Jack, Stevie P and Rob, long-time PJ comp legends signed up by an astute captain as all-and-sundry other miscellaneous captains were bursting to claim them as their own. Yes the 'FarTooFast's have that winning air about them, with today's matchup the exact best place to start. Still with me, Rees ?? 😂 ……. Predicting that the biggest winner of the day today will be red-hot comp favourites the dubiously named 'Under The Radar' (what a swerve !) taking on a plucky but overmatched 'La Bodega'. You can lock it in that the red hots will come out on top in that match. We 'FarTooFast's will have to be right on our game when we come up against the red-hots later in the comp, because anything less than a 'FarTooFast' victory then will cause endless drama back in our 'TooFasts' boardroom. Thanks very much PJ for this Super Spring comp, best of luck to the glorious 'TooFasts' far too fast in reality; thanks to Maxi's mob for turning up today … your day will come...surely , and to all participants I hope you all have great fun. I've alighted on these equine sensations to bring the ole Howie home today :- R1) 3x6 Athena Baby / Suliman R2) 9x10 Best Bet Elle Eye Are / Polly Grey R3) 1x8 Beauty Star / Seductress R4) 1x7 Endless Drama / Helena Baby (hands up how many of you thought Helena Baby was a mare. I know I did. 😊) R5) 5x9 Lock It In / Anneofpaisley R6) 1x2 Best Bet Dubious / Bivouac R7) 7x9 Lankan Star / Sizzlefly R8) 1x5 Fundamentalist / Haunted R9) 5x11 Fifty Stars / Mystic Journey R10) 3x6 Crack The Code / Miss Iano
  22. Was thinking the same thing, Maxi. 😊 Sharne's team the clear hot favourites to win this thing … but hopefully they'll be fartooslow when my team comes up against them. Gonna be a great comp.
  23. 'TooFast' franchise very happy with it's lineup of Howie, Geoff, Steve P, Jack & Robert. Labelling Pete's team however as clear favourites to win this thing - well chosen Pete !
  24. I have 'messaged' PJ this morning with my choice of 'draftees' in order of preference, as I regret I won't be available for the 'live draw'. Am hoping for some brilliant selectors coming out of the draw for this new updated version of 'Too Fast'. Team name this time around is :- ' FarTooFast' and come Grand Final day 16 November I'm confident that name will have proved to be 'spot on' the mark. Thanks for this Spring Comp, PJ. Can't wait to get underway.
