So who is the greatest NZ Olympic athlete of all time

Medal tally says Lisa Carrington, but she can potentially race in 3-4 events per Olympics, as opposed to say a 1500m runner, who might only have 1 event

I don't see much point in comparing them - but I'd expect a 1500m athlete could run in other events - if good enough (like Snell did). Carrington races over 2 distances.

But her dominance over a long time in her key event is pretty impressive - and given the media wants to measure them on medals (with an emphasis on colour), in that regard she is clearly our greatest of all time to date.
