Happy Sunrise
So which one will we be done with first? INCA or Covid. https://www.odt.co.nz/star-news/star-sport/star-racing/high-profile-harness-racing-court-case-delayed-again Court proceedings involving a high-profile Canterbury harness racing figure caught up in a major police probe into corruption and drug use in the industry has been delayed again. The person was scheduled to appear in the Christchurch District Court tomorrow, but the hearing has been tentatively pushed back to February 11. The person had also been expected to appear in court on July 16. Suppression orders prevent the person being identified. The charges faced are also subject to suppression orders. But The Star is aware a key part of the court proceedings is a bid by the defendant, and others in the industry also before the courts, to stop the police evidence being handed over to racing investigators. Their lawyers have been arguing points of law to stop the evidence accessed by the Racing Integrity Board, which has the power to prosecute under racing rules. The penalties can be severe, including lengthy bans from the sport. But a decision on whether that evidence can be accessed by the RIB remains with Judge Raoul Neave who has yet to release his judgement after lengthy legal arguments. The police investigation, dubbed Operation Inca, charged 13 people in September, 2018, following raids on harness racing stables in Canterbury and Auckland. It was overseen by the National Organised Crime Group. It involved undercover officers and electronic surveillance and focused on alleged drug use and race fixing. Five individuals have been dealt with and the remaining defendants are still before the courts. “The investigation is currently awaiting a number of judicial decisions on the remaining defendants,” a police spokesperson told The Star. Send Nat a postcard and tell her she should go home to QLD Karrots !!!!. Blacks A Fake country, she'll remember it. She knows she should come home lol..... Her sister Vicki Rasmussen is getting a Big team togeather and will need help trying to match the 50 of McMullen/Turpin or 80 of Dixon/dixon in work. TURN IT UP going ok here (owned by Mark when won Auckland Cup but leased out) but stable driver, Shane Graham drives them average at times. Natalie and Vicki togeather training /driving would sweep the premiership . Although Italian Lad been a little disappointing so far (2 wins from 13) and LL COOL J is a beauty , but not in week to week like some , so must have a problem unfortunately i'm guessing. Isn't in Christmas Cup. Christmas Cup at Albion Park this week. Nearly the best QLDer ever (behind Blackie) Colt Thirty One hasn't won a race this year (fast class are running sensational 1.51 mile rates in Brisbane each week these days , so too quick for him) , so this could be it for him if he can't win. Yes he did well & was great he could get the payback win for them. Darling Me no luck parked most of the trip. Wonder if Cullen/Purdon will minimise down as Purdon said he would do when he came back to training? Haven't seen a scale back as such yet I don't think. Lined up a number of yearlings at workouts recently. Approx 7. Nothing further much has been said since the return. Obviously we can see they have chosen All Star colours over Cullen Colours. 7 hours ago, Lightning Blue said: do hope Nat is ok over there?. Agree. As they didn't announce the reason, who knows what the reason is.
