  1. Haha, I think it was the only course left 🙂 It's very cute though 🙂 The approach looks a lot like some of the older english racetracks.
  2. Blimey not many left to guess with the running going in the right direction, looks more like a market than a racetrack 🙂 .. a christmas market! Does have a Tauherenikau look about it doesn't it, but their saddling stalls aren't positioned like that are they? More concrete and a walking circle. Been so long since I went to a meeting there .. sadly.. 🙂 Woodville is out 🙂 So next up the line is Waipuk? .. the buildings and roofs are the right colour 🙂 ... not sure if the straight has that rise in it towards the finishing post though.
  3. Oops just saw this.. sorry I doubled up 🙂
  4. Although not sure if the stand would still be there as its no longer in use for racing ... 🙂
  5. I'll throw Waikouaiti out there as it looks like the straight is up hill to the finishing post.
  6. I agree Max that frustration is sure to have played a part but what I think is interesting is they may have put the Protea's slow scoring down to their own bowling, but perhaps it is because it's a bowlers wicket and the Protea's were actually batting defensively and well, knowing that they could easily do the same with the ball, which they did. A lack of thought to some extent from NZ.
  7. It's always more difficult taking on a team that has nothing to lose than a team that has their cricket careers on the line and that you know well and can study. The Protea hotchpotch, whilst not their top players are still at the level of many of our regional team players and they all, at times pull off a great bowl that gets our representative batsmen out, or play a beaut innings against our representative bowlers. It's always going to happen. To expect the NZ team to run over them 100 percent of the time is just not realistic.
  8. I'll have a second stab just in case Berrigan doesn't cut the mustard, as I need to head off and do some cooking... Omoto ?
  9. Funny you should say that, I was just looking at Cromwell. The winning post location narrows it down a bit.
  10. Trentham might like to borrow their watering system 🙂
  11. I'd say that is true. The racecourse house in Trentham used to be right by the railway line, next to the old Trentham Leger and every night I'd hear the clack of the trains running over the tracks as the wheels hit the gaps. I still hear it now when I'm at my parents place as they are still near the Hutt Valley rail line. I loved it.. quite rhythmic but I agree if they wanted to stop that, then I think the gaps would be minimised.
  12. Soliloquy now there's a grand mare of old 🙂
  13. I'm not sure, it's get's hotter in Upper Hutt than Auckland and there's never any issues with the track through to the Wairarapa which is often hotter. Perhaps it's their base they are on, do they still use traditional sleepers and fastenings with gaps ? The tracks on the Hutt and Wairarapa line have pretty decent gaps between each connecting track piece, perhaps these haven't and joins are expanding together and pushing against each other. 🙂 of course this is just a thought with no real knowledge of the railway in Auckland 🙂
  14. I think you are spot on NG, those lovely white fetlocks.
  15. Yeah I'm really pleased for them after they lost the win last year with Gentleman Roy. What a beaut horse, he just loves running.
  16. Well done Styx, you came back like Mr Brightside in the shadow of the post. Beaut total for you Smiler! Grand effort Showtime! can't say I contributed much 🙂 but you lads were stellar given the fact that we didn't have much option for playing our TJ. Still got a joker up our sleeves so let's hope we can gain some points back before the end of this round 🙂 Shine on you crazy stage stars 🙂
  17. True that!! Come on Atishu!!! Lock down Howie's TAB account ...
  18. You can run down the hall with me Pete 🙂
  19. Blimey... that's a rather sad total to come home to 🙂 Still, no I in Team!! 🙂 Go Team! Let's hope the second half of the card runs to my expectations 🙂 Looks like it might be another run down the hall afternoon, I'd better get my son in position 🙂

  21. I failed my first one too, it was putting a dot at the end of the car's journey. I found the number of photos with caps in it much easier 🙂
