Here is the decision. Its quite comical his 4 posts he got fined $2k. He prob shouldnt of used 1 word sworn lol. That was wrong. But otherwise bar that & he was on the money.

Says hes deeply embarassed. Shouldnt be.

Other than fact he got pinged a couple of k its quite amusing & was understandably frustrated. Gee RIB are sensitive. Its down as a serious offence. Gee they are clearly on a different planet to me if they think thats a serious offence.

How much $ do they get paid? Millions. What is it they are doing? Im starting to shake my head at them. I can really start to see why some dont like them & arent keen on them.

you gotta stick the kids on . not old Maurice and Mango and Ricky and CJ etc.

100% Lightening. Is it a case of the boomers clinging on. Its so weird actually. Most sportmen retire alot earlier than 60 odd. Older trainers is fine. Up to 80 years Im fine with. But driving different beast. Perhaps those you mentioned plus others should stick to training & get the young guns on.

Even leaders gripping on. Wont retire or stand down. Yet its pretty obvious the younger crew eg Cambridge team, push ahead with leaps & bounds. Look at ATC for eg & HRNZ.

Not many race car drivers. Fernando Alonso has been around forever and is 40 years old (oldest current formula One driver)

This generation (this century) the drivers are pratically all 'Gamers' who spend vast amounts of time in simulators of the tracks/cars they are racing on/in. More than on the track (which are only available for a few days a year when set up for Grand Prix's etc. in contrast to last century when the 'Old' boys did countless laps as 'Test' drivers , getting their car 'just right'  before racing.

Of course the horsepeople are more hands on and race driving is a skill-set that is well earned . (with experience) . most of the greats starting very young in the Family business like the Purdon boys , The Dunn boys , the McCarthy Boys , the Rasmussen girls .(There's 4 of the worlds best driving families going.)

Mostly it's a young persons game (esp Aus) where the middle aged to old should just let the youngsters do their thing. I have noticed a lot of the dad's just let the kid's do it and take over when they get to licenced age . In the races, they just let the horses roll now , so not the great strength needed that was once an 'issue' hanging on to strong and pulling horses in a race. So the skinny teens do just as good as anyone else these days lol. 😉😂

Thanks Lightening. Was actually going to say 45+ then lowered age as was thinking surely theres no Formula 1 drivers aged 40+. But alas there is 1. Yea its weird really, why in Harness they have aged persons driving Horse Formula 1. Aussies are on the money.

I've done what you said, and imagined it.

No way in the world it's going to break my neck. Because, I'm moving too. And moving in the exact same direction, as the horse behind me. And I dare say, and hope, that it would be a damn sight quicker than 20k's an hour!

Now time for others to imagine something.

Imagine if the horse being punched, broke, went into a mad gallop, crashed, and brought half the field down. There have been multiple incidents on race tracks in the last 6 months where horses have hit the deck, causing horses in behind to fall, with jockeys going to ground and getting instantly killed. Helmets and vests didn't save them, and they were taken far, far too soon from their friends, family and loved ones.

That is just one reason, and possible scenario, as to why we can't have people punching horses during the running of races where they can be going in excess of 50km per hour, and as you've rightly pointed out, it's 500kg of meat, combined with bits of metal, it may not end well. And that's an understatement.

Overall your right re shouldnt of punched. What Im saying & always have is I can understand why he lashed out.

Re traveling at same spend. But they werent, thats why the horse behind him was hitting him. Take a car what happens when car infront suddenly stops or slows & your tailgating. Who is at fault in that sito when back car hits car infront. I cant stand it when someone tail gates me. Be like back up the bus.

But yes agree shouldnt of punched. Maybe a slap that wouldnt of been as bad. Like the W Smith, C Rock slap hahaha.

  5. Just reading in old recent news the guy Greyhound guy that was operating more dogs without an approved license to operate as many as he did. Is no longer allowed to slaughter horses on his property for dog consumption.

    Lovely isnt it.

    Just home

Been @ Glenfalloch for a 70th birthday bash , Top food and a great night,

I did back both but only a small bet.

70th go you good thing. Sounds fun. Great food & people.

Question, how many 40+ race car drivers who compete in Formula 1, formula 2 or formula 3?

Question, how many Harness drivers full stop are there that complete 40+?

Not looking for explanations. Just facts.

  7. Hey cuties, well just checked result a bit of a suspension.

Im still in J Cox corner. Yes he didnt handle it well, if a horse was right up mine & made me feel uncomfortable to a point I swung to take a punch then, that says it all. He did connect as per stripes report. So got that wrong. Another thing Id like to point out is a 500kg horse going say 20kms right up behind you, imagine that going straight into your neck, easily break it.

Im not up to play on anything else just checked Akl Cup results, took a quick peak while looking at stripes & saw J Teaz been done for online bad language. Lol. Are the stripes RIB for real. Pleased not an owner or licensee or anything now. No wonder Enteebee got out.

So RIB has time to fine Teaz for free speech but seemingly is doing nothing while other more allegelly sinister things go on.

  8. Fair enough Rusty. Just to me didnt look like he made contact with horse hence wanted proof he did. But as you say seem to think he did so will leave it at that.

Agree he prob realises his mistake re fist.

To be fair, given an overseas vote & both parties are not to my liking, Im looking at a 3rd party. 1 that wont be a waste of vote.

Im considering Maori Party. Just saying. If Im starting to consider & past tense 2017 that vote went to NZF when, those like myself & pretty much all my mates voted for a 3rd party NZF.

Gotta say, think Maori Party will be King Maker. Like it or Lump it. Never voted for them before, but it what it is.

The boomers will hate this lol. Be interesting whom Gen Z will vote for hey.

That crazy, loopy, anti-racing brigade, are not going to be slow-motioning it, when they go sharing it on their Bookfaces and insta-toks.

Hello my fav cuties Rusty & Happy.

Could you please provide me with a pic, screen shot of Cox connecting with the horse. Just post here. Thanks.

Wow this horse looks the goods.  Go Okoha Connor. There is a horse in North. Yet to be unleashed. Massive 400 metre high speed. Up there I hear based on speed alone with Merlin & Don't Dream Stop Dreaming.  However prob be sold off to Aussie.

Spirit by the way never contested any young age group races. But has ended up being the open class age group goods.

Re-reading this thread & correction, not same age. Muddled up with change of season.

Oh My Dear Karrots, what a memory you have.

    Actually 2 from 3.

Earlier in night, badly held up before dashing into 3rd onboard stable debutante XCITE ME.She looks a winner at short notice.

Dam straight Mr Josia. Ha funny, thought you may have been an owner of Punk Rocker hehe.  But alas not. Id never give your ID away anyways.

Didn't realize re Xcite Me. So pleased she is prob tho! About time.

    Its her time to shine.

PS how good is N Rasmassen. Sorry but not sorry,  but shes the best driver in Australasia. Iv always thought she is so tactical. Shes a thinker. If I was her rival in a race. She would be my biggest concern. Not M Purdon, or B Orange. Got to watch those woman. Always thinking, & always 1 step ahead.

Sheryl Wigg, after dominating The Amateur Drivers Ranks since 2015,in which she drove an astonishing 62 winners (plus 60 minor placings) from 188 drives, has become a Graduation Driver.

Her Debut Drive in The Professional Ranks came last Friday at Alex Park behind stable runner Punk Rocker.

It was to be a Winning Debut, and a Copybook Drive.

After drawing the ace,she held the early lead, before 3000 Win Club Member Maurice McKendry came pressing for the lead.Unlike Blair Orange/Todd Mitchell a couple of races earlier, she didn't engage in a battle, and instantly took a trail. Then dashed home along the passing lane to victory.🍾

Remember you & me Josia, rooting for her. We said she ready to go full pro 2 ish years ago!

Hallelujah time. Better late than never.

2 from 2 now is it. Ha. Go Ms Wigg.

  14. Agree with Globie here.

If you slow motion it, & freeze frame it, it looks like he doesnt connect with horse.

In hindsight he shouldn't of done it via close fist, open hand & wouldn't of looked so bad.

The horse was right up on his nickle. Annoyed he turned & closed fist, warned the horse, get out of my space. That is what he did.

Next time tho, do it open hand - out of my space buddy.

Correct, all of the horses entered for that day were scratched.

Just took a peak. Looks like all his horses had a virus. Based on stripes report.

I don't get 'the obsession' people have these days wanting to know On-Course Betting Figures!!!

    Hi cutieness Josia,

You don't by any chance have shares in a horse that recently won?

Answering your question, tots agree with you.

However here Im interested as based on on-course attendance of 4,500 peeps, & likely approx prob guessimate at least 1/2 of these would never visit a race course again. Eg your once a year visitor. Therefore not have a online TAB account. Feel the raceway didn't, make the most of this. Didn't engage with those encouraging them to bet. How could they when many were wrapped in waiting in booze line. That's my point.

Otherwise, with this exception, yes get it and agree. Its not relevant.

Cambridge was my hope for Harness racing NZ. Them & Addington.

Give up tho. Reality is, its a hard sell. Product - Betting on harness horses (hard sell). Thrown in barriers the best in the business (North) eg Cambridge Raceway, do this sort of thing. Joke material.

Overall its a gone burger. Sorry fans. 10 years I give it. NZ Harness racing. Enjoy whats left.

Thought u were maybe on the money, but then we were all told not true.

Anyway Im starting to believe it.
