  1. Very good points and can i add both are compromised being on multiple industry payrolls.
  2. Well done Mickey Mouse. 5 out of the 7 winners on 2nd night at Manawatu.
  3. Over Cup week he did excel in the Dominion but in terms of consistency Williamson is better overall IMO. The 3 horses i referred to were a 2yr old and 2 3yr olds having first starts. That none broke suggests excellent grounding/training to me. They might have some talent as well. 😘
  4. All things considered and that why i made original post P Williamson is a machine and probably the best trainer of trotters in NZ. Globe's pick was a 2yr ols and the other 2 3 yr old's. No one else could do it IMO
  5. So they'run 1 2 and 4th with the old maestro Phil driving the winner at 3 to 2
  6. P Williamson has 3 unraced trotters lining up in this race. Even driving one himself but the money will usually say which is the better chance if history is anything to go by
  7. Better placed in Stand and let the pros work it out against the amateurs
  8. Not so good at the driving caper. 173 drives for 15 wins and 24 placings. That said many a good trainer knows he's better placed in the stand that out in the middle.
  9. It was simply outrageous how easily it won. Will be hot next start. Isn't Cam Peter and Leones son?
  10. Race 5 Number 14 Jagara Currently 21s and 4.80 ill have 10/90 at that price
  11. Not really a comp type but will have a look. Thanks for invite
  12. 14 X21126 Jagara 3 g R54 14 Ft John Dunn Robert & Jenna Dunn Was going to be my major bet on Friday until i saw the draw. Back to the drawing board!!
  13. Thanks Karrots. Many were racing fans who have been around a while. My prediction is that they will win a few more on Friday. Laying Dunn's horses on Betfair also helped the ledger yesterday
  14. Cannot understand why most at Cup day function i attended were surprised at All Stars success rate. Given historical results at Cup week all i could think of was " thanks very much for kind donation" every time Mark saluted the judge and my account ballooned a bit more.
  15. Addington

    TAB

Had no problems this end. Got all my bets on in a timely manner.
  16. Class is permanent. Cup day and another M Purdon benefit day for his band of owners. Nat will join in shortly. Surely
  17. Yes i know that but surely the guy can see what a bad look it is.
  18. How is that " Mick " can get an exemption to travel to Cup day from Auckland when major sponsors IRT owners cant?
  19. Great horse who won 1986 Cup. Tussle won the big trot that day but who could forget this effort from MM
  20. In no particular order of importance but R May whose current UDR is a woeful .1636 has not got a Cup Drive despite having won it Cup 7 times. Natalie will raise her bat on Tuesday, 100th drive for the season and Tim Williams is driving for Purdon /Cullen barn. Who would have thought that was a possibility after all the noise re his departure pre Jewels. I'm sure other contributors can add to the list
  21. Big southern hope Pembrook Playboy is out of the New Zealand Cup. Trainer-driver Nathan Williamson confirmed the news this afternoon, saying his star pacer has suffered a “minor” leg injury. “We had some slight concerns yesterday and didn’t know if it was going to get better … he might have banged it or knocked it, we don’t know.” But today it was clear the horse wasn’t right and Williamson had no option but to scratch him from Tuesday’s $600,000 Group One feature. Williamson’s disappointment was clear. “For someone who’s grown up around racing it is more than just a race ..I don’t know what to say, it’s very gutting.” With a third in the Ashburton Flying Stakes, a second in the Canterbury Classic and a fourth in the Hannon Memorial many were saying the horse was peaking nicely. His stocks only grew after yesterday’s front line draw which saw him installed a $5.50 fourth favourite behind Self Assured, Copy That and South Coast Arden. His shock withdrawal means Southland’s chances now rest with Vintage Cheddar and Robyns Playboy. Williamson is hopeful the injury is not a long term one – “he might be back at Christmas time” – but that is small consolation five days out from the biggest race of them all.
  22. Observe how it is driven today for starters
  23. Will be under the microscope and rightly so, The RIB hopefully doing their job
  24. If it wins or goes close at Kaikoura there might be a bit of social media banter about CD. The drive will be what many will be watching ,including RIB.
  25. First win after 95 unsuccessful attempts and for good measure clocks up number 2 an hour later on Von Art who was beautifully placed by the trainer . Among a host of conditions for the race, The winner will get a rating penalty free win if 4YO and older, and driven by a Junior Driver, and has not previously won an exempt drivers race. Boxes ticked their by both of them.
