  3. yep totally agree, the rule wasn't ambiguous at all - the leading team is the team leading the competition if it was meant to apply to any team ahead of their final round opponent, regardless of position on the table, then I reckon PJ would have used words to that effect below is a message I shared with team Turbos after round 2 moving on now 🙂 hi team what are your thoughts on joker plays? below is the remainder of our draw for first time through along with where the teams are currently sitting - mind you only two rounds triple joker has to be played against a team above us - Blues next week maybe? regular joker - Kauri Kats maybe? Round 3 Swamp Foxes 7th (1 point) Round 4 Blues 1st (8 points) Round 5 Chiefs 8th (1 point) Round 6 Kauri Kats 6th (2 points) Round 7 Magpies 3rd (5 points)
  4. Yeah sorry that’s not my point unfortunately I used your team as an example I’m just trying to understand how the original rule was ambiguous
  5. just checking, how was the rule ambiguous before the change? take the example of the Swamp Foxes (not picking on that team, just using them as an example) yesterday they played the second place team, and they were scheduled to play the bottom placed team in the final round. under the original rule if they wanted to play their triple joker yesterday was the day. no interpretation of the original rule would let them think they could play it next week? yes i know I sound like a villain but in our current position we need all the help we can get 🙂 - something i thought the triple joker was for (to help lower placed teams catch up)
  6. Why? Swamp Foxes could have played theirs today, and Kats could have last week.
  7. we're having a bad day Peter, but our team total is a bit higher than what you have us down for probably won't make a difference but ...
  8. R1: 6/13 R2: 1/7 R3: 3/17 R4: 7/8 ** R5: 2/10 R6: 2/5 R7: 5/13 ** R8: 1/3 R9: 1/2 R10: 7/11 playing our Joker today, thanks Peter
  9. i see the aforementioned Snitzel colt accepted in race 4 drawn the outside and heavy track so will they start him? if they want to get to Riccarton, they may have to?
  10. Newcastle vs Canberra in first round is not confirmed yet, likely but Canberra could upset Sharks today resting a bunch of players with niggles has to help and perhaps the Warriors didn't mind playing title favourites Penrith in the first week of the play-offs because it means avoiding them in the semi-finals (or preliminary final) should they get that far
  11. R1 - 2/3 R2 - 2/3 R3 - 5/7 R4 - 2/8 R5 - 5/14 R6 - 1/6 ** R7 - 1/5 R8 - 1/11 R9 - 1/6 R10 - 2/13 ** thanks Peter
  12. thanks for sharing that Peter, very interesting he looked nice in his most recent trial, not surprising that he is nominated for 2000 Guineas, will open up well in that market i suspect although unraced and only two months away
  13. hi Peter, a question completely unrelated to this thread but breeding related i watch a few trials and i think the O'Sullivan's might have a nice 3yo colt called Monday Melody interesting breeding, sire is Snitzel, a Peter J mating perhaps? dam is Flora De Mariposa who is out of a group winning NZ staying mare (Jeu De Cartes), by Frankel. i think Flora de Mariposa might have raced in Japan? quite a continental mix here and I assume bred at your place and sold In Australia? is this the mare's first foal? did he sell for a big price?
  14. anyone ever visited Circus Maximus? amazing place

  20. well this comp is pretty easy, first entry, 8 from 8 🙂 as I said above, not interested in your prize-money, please share among those who entered from the outset I'm off to buy a Powerball ticket now, don't buy every draw but always join in when it jackpots to $30m or more, hopefully those who entered in earlier draws and contributed to the jackpot, don't mind me joining
  21. yep i get that, but doesn't make the football world cup(s) less "real" because NZ is rubbish at it
  22. haha, the cricket WC where they struggle to find 10 teams good enough to play in it this WWC will finish with total viewer numbers over 2 billion despite being outside of peak viewing times for much of the world the last rugby WC didn't reach 1 billion, no comparison
