Double R
After a dreadful performance last Friday night by Arden Velosity, blood tests have shown there is a wee problem, so he has had four days rest, and antibiotic treatment, and has resume work again. On a brighter note, well hopefully it will be, our next horse is "launched" tonight. Ultimate Missile has had a thorough build up to starting his racing career, so a bold run is expected. 1

Something that you may have observed is, regardless of what "the market assessment" is, whether it is paying $2 or $22, and has a bit of ability, it is expected to finish off with a bit of zip, after having a good run. Thought something may have been wrong Robert with Arden Velocity. Great first up win with Ultimate Missile as they smoked home after dawdling and he picked them up nicely.

I didn't realize you had done that, and started another thread with the story. Better to have it up twice than not at all!!!
Double R
It maybe perceived that it is easy to win races up north, but when you are lining up in maiden races, like our one on Friday night, and you are racing against horses that raced in a Sires Stakes heat the week before, and although finished behind the placegetters, still recorded a mile rate of 1.56, it shows the depth, and competitiveness is there.
Double R
When "Sweetie" hits the track Karrots, we are all going to have be at full fitness to be competitive with her!!!

Agree with you, when I first started following in 2018. I noted that South was stronger in general, meaning that when they came up in same grade they were slightly better. HOWEVER feel that has changed & you just have to look at Telfers stable as an example. I don't really include Manawatu in that assessment, as Manawatu horses are Manawatu horses. Respectfully the weakest of the 3 Northern tracks. And it is good to have Mana. Those horses that come up from South. Don't see many of them winning at Cambridge do ya in same grade. And they didn't seem to win a lot at Alex either when they came up. The NZ CUP is open and any islands to take this year IMO. AND the Jewels at Cambridge 2021 was 4 to North Island & 5 to South. Similar. Edited October 30, 2021 by karrotsishere

Sweetie be racing next year. Seems like a long wait but it hasn't actually been that long. Just long when you are so keen hehe. Karrots goal, to get a photo taken in winners circle with Sweetie 😀 Never been in winners circle. Double R
I agree Karrots, there has been a slight shift, and the average horse in each island would be competitive against each other. The South Island has been traditional been a bit stronger in the top level racing.

Hopefully, Covid 19 conditions will will allow us to go back to the races soon, and be on course to see our horses race. OH NO, KARROTS, when Sweetie wins, do you realize your identity will be revealed. How will you cope with that???

Was more thinking what should I wear when get to winners circle for the everlasting PHOTO 😄 Was wondering to myself will it be winter attire or summer attire 🤔 Right need to create some questions for Enteebee then heading out for an Auckland picnic. In the not great weather. Have a great day. Edited October 30, 2021 by karrotsishere
Double R
I wouldn't worry about what to wear, as with Auckland weather, there is always the possibility of four seasons in night at the races.
