Okay - here is another for Christmas eve - should be far too easy for you PJ He was a grandson of the mighty Hyperion and not only looked like Hyperion but had a gentle nature like him as well. Was trained at New Plymouth and might have won 1 race. Sired a handful of runners but did leave a dual stakes winner.

Petone had a pretty good team back in those days with a couple of All Blacks in the backline. Wellington rugby was strong with good crowd support unlike today. I have some fond memories of the Petone Rec 🙂

I never played on that park (or that game) but have hit a few white balls on the fairways above it - bloody goat track! I did play a few games a little further up the road at Athletic park though in the early 80's
