  1. Lets be honest, form in harness means nothing with the low lifes who have been caught. Get with the right trainer and you will go out a $3.50 shot with a form line of 000090. Now, we have the cheek of Jones asking for leniency. He must think the people delivering the verdict are idiots. You admitted you lied FFS. But, for some, there is no corruption in harness. Alford was innocent. Kerr was innocent. Jones is innocent, INCA is a witch hunt, all those associated are innocent. It is all the RIB's fault. How dare anyone call into question the integrity of harness racing. For those out there who are concerned with who informs The Star of details I suggest you be more concerned who is bringing harness racing into disrepute. And, Mr Woodham and HRNZ, you are simple enough to dump tracks like tracks like Orari in isolation before you have decided the fate of Rangiora, Timaru and Oamaru which could lead harness into a world of pain, eg Addington racing 3 times a week with fields of 9 runners and no grass track racing so what will your brains trust do with the code of conduct you so loved upon its inception with these individuals who have been accused of assault? I have yet to hear of anyone breach it. Surely, these 2 individuals who have allegedly assaulted a female deserve to be subject to it if guilty? Does it even exist or was it just a vanity project to say you were doing something? You have to be in a whole world of denial if you think harness is without a select group of corrupt individuals who are ruining it for the other 98%.
  2. A great read. Anybody with half a brain knew what was going on.Tetrick. Tetrick. Tetrick. Some connected to this will have credibility issues now. Oh, and on front page is more about the sexual abuse case. They just can't help themselves.
  3. What a clueless git. The human headline at it again. I think he writes so much controversial stuff he doesn't know what day it is. He attacks the stipes for not chasing the beach cheats, then when someone stands up to them, he says its open season on the stipes and they should be charged. Just goes to show how farked up harness is.
  4. There are not many harness journos anymore but whoever it is must be a clown.
  5. And good to see Lincoln Farms using the High Flying Harry case as a template. Olivia Jarvis (and co) justified Newman's drive to the hilt and provided an argument to get him off and now it is very pleasing to see if chucked back in the stipe's faces.
  6. In my opinion, 1. It was a very sound tactical decision by Mckendry to go back to the rails. Not many drivers have enough sense to do that. Most want to go via carpark and get 9th. Mckendry made a choice between 2 viable options. 2. Robbie Close goes up the middle without sanctions all the time. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. 3. Lincoln Farms, if you want another reference in your defence, check out Sarah O'Reilly's drive on Tasman Tempest (what is now 2 starts ago) Has anything come of this yet? Not sure, but it was a terrible look. She chose not to take the clear and most beneficial option. How can she just get a speaking to in comparison to McKendry. TASMAN TEMPEST - over-raced early and middle stages. Had difficulty obtaining clear racing room in the run home. Driver S O'Reilly advised that the removable deafeners had failed to activate due to the cord becoming entangled. Miss O'Reilly will be spoken to regarding the manner she drove on the final bend when electing not to shift wider on the track when an opportunity existed before being covered by an outside runner. 4. Stipes have next to no farking idea about driving.
  7. Was the starter in the mobile vehicle for this race? Asking for a friend.

  9. Finally some good news.
  10. You are right but by golly, the way the policeman speaks there is even more of a story behind it all. Seems like it is more than just a one off. If they can say things like this below then they are holding far more information than just a single event. Will I get told off for speculating by moderators on here? In my view, the police have set the standard and I am merely discussing the information presented by authorities. If they can say this sort of stuff then the standard is set. How is that code of conduct going, Mr Woodham?
  11. They said he was conscious and off to hospital so seemingly worst case scenarios not in play fortunately.
  12. Hope he is ok after that crash as it looked very bad. Hate seeing that.
  13. Thinking too fast. Unlike these 2 culprits in the news today. Horse trainer and driver allegedly sexually abused young woman ALDEN WILLIAMS/STUFF A horse trainer and a driver are due to appear in court next week facing sex charges. (File photo) A horse trainer and a driver allegedly sexually abused a woman during last year's New Zealand Cup and Show week in Canterbury. It comes as a police officer says more needs to be done to stop a small group of trainers from exploiting a power imbalance that exists in the industry. A 25-year-old trainer has been charged with indecent assault and aggravated assault, while a 29-year-old driver has been charged with indecent assault. It’s understood the charges relate to an incident that happened at a private training stables in November last year. Detective Sergeant Daniel Isherwood said the two men were arrested this week and would appear in the Christchurch District Court on Wednesday. He declined to comment further about the case while it was before the courts. However, speaking generally, Isherwood said it was clear from his inquiries and observations that the harness racing industry had a problem it needed to address. “A lack of employment contracts, coupled with young women who are motivated to progress their careers has unfortunately created an environment a small number of trainers have chosen to exploit. “Trainers are in a position of power and really need to take a hard look at what they are doing to ensure a safe work place.” Harness Racing New Zealand chief executive Gary Woodham could not be reached for comment.
  14. Bored of NZ harness! Are you watching Channel 83 tonight? I would listen to Jason Teaz all night long but the visual quality of it is poor (read not an acceptable standard) and while it seems a great concept how can harness have 2 presenters on one channel up against the Whale, Matt Cookson and the 2 commentators? Harness is not big enough for this.
  15. And really sad for Ready I Am's connections. A good battler who tried as hard as it could and would pop up now and again to spice divvies up. Punters would always have to consider it in trifectas and First Fours. A disappointing end to the type of horse harness racing can't do without it.
  16. The powers that be of harness racing can all fuck off. Blair Orange gets 2 days for causing careless driving but goes on to keep the race and the winning stake. While in his wake is carnage including a horse which had to be euthanised. It seems as though nothing will get you booted from a race. Lets whip them more when the stake is higher because there is no consequence, lets barge our way through with no thought to other runners because you will not lose the race. Lets charge the standing start to get an advantage while making standing starts a farce. I am sick of the shit that harness racing lets people away with. What happened to Cam Jones? What happened to Mexicana? All the big noters can take The Race and shove it up their arse if they are going to let people do whatever they want.
  17. But you are betting on the ability of the driver too aren't you? We both know that is impossible under the current regime. I would like to say they are bean counters who work to the letter of the law but they aren't. They look at races through a completely different lense to that of a punter.
  18. I don't think the Mot one between Hay and Dunn was bad at all. In my eyes, they had a contest for a bit and then Hay relented. Whereas down South the boys went at it and forgot they were actually in a race with other horses lol Carana's performance was impressive, it will be worth watching to see if it goes on with it. As for the hornet, a trail would have been good for the punters in hindsight.
  19. Maybe they should go back and charge Fitzgerald. Anything more come of that race and the participants behaviour or was that just gossip?
  20. He was in an aggressive mood yesterday. Handlebars down. But he wasn't alone, quite a few got hammered for whip use yesterday. For me, it shows Motukarara has the best grass racing as so many horses have a chance unlike Methven.
