  1. Maybe the horses need 4 trainers now? 😂 Maybe it is a succession plan, they are so well organised it wouldn't surprise me at all. Maybe, they really have had enough and once the handing over is complete in 2 or 3 years that will be it or they really do go part time. Having such good owners and with so much money involved they can't just up and leave as it will be too disruptive. And the All Stars brand is very important to harness racing (and them too) so I imagine they want it to continue with the family name in the future. Note this is pure speculation.
  2. The driver got a 100 dollar fine for his efforts at Timaru. Enough to put one off betting.
  3. It's all for show a lot of what they do. I call it the 'generation age' where the powers that be sit down and have these 'fantastic' meetings where they produce a document saying it is all sorted then it nothing is done. Just forgotten while they move on to the next fix. The art of 'doing' is lost in this mad world of bureaucracy. In essence, the memorandum is literally a piece of paper. Shame winter is over, I could have put it to better use in the logburner.
  4. You are on fire, Rusty. Well done.
  5. Reading over the Memorandum of Understanding, one could come to the fair assumption the 3 parties are derelict in their duty. Time to front up, Gary Woodham, if indeed you are still in the job as your regular 'communications' that were promised have fizzled out faster than this memorandum.
  6. What a load of shit. Can even get 3 groups in the same room and then no minutes. You would think they would be discussing the deaths of the 3 Telfer horses and Soaring's last week before the race. If it wasn't so serious it would be a comedy.

  8. The powers that be have a choice. Either fine / suspend drivers who can't get into the proper starting position with their horses or call a false start. You have Refine and Raging On basically out of the first race at Timaru because they are not in position, miles off. Especially, Refine who had no excuse. After the ridiculous decision made by the stipes on Friday in Race 2 I have lost faith in the starter and the stipes. How can you say the 12 horse's chances are not affected when the horse drawn on the front line in front of it is out of position by so much. Surely, it is a false start. I can see why harness racing is not an attractive proposition for gamblers anymore. SPANDAL - inconvenienced in the score up and was back from position at dispatch. Stewards reviewed the start as to whether this runner had been denied a fair start and such occurrence had materially prejudiced the chances of the horse in accordance with Rule 213(1)(j). Stewards were satisfied that the filly's chances had not been materially prejudiced given the position the filly was able to obtain shortly after the start and placings were duly authorised.
  9. Lochinvar Art won't be coming due to bleeding in his last race. Might be off to USA according to the article. Going along the same lines of Christen Me and Lasix. The TAB shouldn't be offering any odds on him. Australian harness racing’s one time pin-up pacer Lochinvar Art has run his last race Down Under. Owner Kevin Gordon said the former Hunter and Victoria Cup hero would either be retired or be sent to North America to continue his career. The shock decision came after Lochinvar Art had a minor bleed and was stood down from racing for 28 days after last Saturday night’s Gammalite Free-For-All at Melton. “There’s only two options as far as I’m concerned,” Gordon said. “Retire him or send him to the US. He’s had a bleed now and even though you can treat him, you can’t race him properly here anymore.
  10. Keep the stuff. It will be worth millions to Addington when it is the only track racing in Aotearoa.
  11. Thanks, mate I didn't think I needed a French rugby referee to get me the win looking at that photo.
  12. Would like to see the photo for 3rd place. Addington always favours the outside horse. Matt Cross and The Whale got it wrong too after rewatching the finish post race. TAB says it is a nose but it must have been the closest thing to a dead heat. Is there anywhere one can see the photo?
  13. They already have one. It is getting a crowded market. On the bright side, it may be sharing around the big money, even they have to cough up to be in the race. THE world’s richest harness race, The TAB Eureka, gets serious today. Expressions of Interest for a Slot in the $2.1 million feature, are now open. The TAB Eureka will have just 10 runners, meaning 10 slots will be available. Nine remain with TAB securing a slot as part of its naming rights partnership for the race to be run for the first time at Club Menangle on September 2, 2023.
  14. The Cambridge version is on April 14 2023 and a new Aussie version at Gloucester Park is the same day. Does this mean Australian participation in NZ will be severely dented? https://www.harness.org.au/media-room/news-article/?news_id=54056
  15. Needs to be investigation into this.
  16. It just goes to show how limited they are in their thinking. You need to give breeders time to get organised and think about the future. It needs to create a cumulative effect, not a a one off. So it may have a one year boost and but happens the year after? A steep decline past the previous levels because breeders have used the system to their advantage?
  17. "Research overseas shows us that if we do this properly, we could have as much as a 55 per cent increase in horses actively racing," says Woodham, "that would have massive implications." They must thinking beyond a year surely? 55% is not going to happen in a year, more like 5-10 years.
  18. Hopefully it has the desired impact.
  19. They might blurt random stuff when they shouldn't no problem at all but proper and regulated communication is beyond them.
  20. Does this mean Akuta is starting in the NZ Cup?
  21. A bit like the public display of turnover figures in harness racing recently. Hiding stuff is never a good sign.
  22. If they lose both games to Oz he needs to be realistic and resign.
  23. Everyone loves Xmas memories. Are you putting forward your stuffed pudding this year for the followers, Rusty? You need to do better than the pig of an idea you had with the ham.
